Diodes for switch mod - what type? was created by stevo1957
Hi guys,

I am looking for some diodes 1N4148 as has been suggested by some on this forum given the DSMX issues experienced by some with the 1N4001 value.

When I search under that number, I get:
signal diode
switching diode
signal switching diode
DO35 type
DO41 type

Can anyone explain what I need to look for in relation to the "DO" descriptors or doesn't any of the above matter, provided I get a diode of type 1N4148?

Google has made me more confused. :(

Any assistance appreciated.

Cheers,

Steve

Looks like "DO-" is just a dimension specifier, so doesn't matter a damn (unless you get something so massive it doesn't physically fit... )
AFAIK any old IN4148 will do the job, grab a hundred for a buck on ebay and go nuts! (grab ones with legs though, SMD [surface-mount, no legs] will be a pain)
Or if you can't wait, jaycar should have them for 10x the price
