Broken Antenna on NRF Module ... quick fix? was created by CesiumSalami
Hi Guys,

Banggood was kind enough to deliver an NRF module today with a broken antenna. I'm not looking for anything high performance - < 200m around in my backyard (it's a big back yard :) .

Before you ask :( i did google this.... there are many numbers "on the web" for antenna length ranging from 26 - 31.25. Pretty sure 26 is too low and 31.25 (while correct in concept) maybe isn't appropriate.

Can I:
  • chop the top of this off
  • remeasure 28mm (??)
  • peel off all the grounding wires for that length
  • leave the sheath on the now exposed signal wire
  • solder the bottom bell back on somwhere below the newly exposed wire - to the grounding wires?
  • leave the top bell off

Think I'll be left with something that gets reasonable performance with this plan? Any suggestions? Should I just skip the bell on the bottom and on top?

If the top bell is required. Would anyone be able to explain how that's soldered? Is it to the core / signal wire?
