Devo 7e rudder problems( heli)

Hi,

I'm new at this so I hope someone can give me an answer.

I bought assault 100 ( copy of hisky hcp100s) and rudder didn't work so I thought that I did something wrong with setting up the heli. But then I connected my brothers super CP and the same thing - looks like transmitter gives command for 30% power or less... I even copied .ini file from this page for super cp but same thing. It just spins out of control.

Any suggestions - thank you !!

Can you post the ini file you're using? Also please tell us the version of Deviation you have loaded... it should look something like "deviation-devo7e-v5.0.0-f590316". If you don't have hex numbers after v5.0.0 it's the release version, and if there are hex numbers it's a nightly.

The ini file you posted is designed for the Devo 10/12. The Devo 7e doesn't have the switches to support all the features he's included. The functionality of the Ail, Elv, Thr and Rud channels should be ok, but you'll have only one rate. In the original Tom Z thread with this file is a Zip file for the Devo7e. In that Zip is an ini that may be more suitable, however it still requires the 2x3-way switch mod. SWB is used to control flight mode and affects channel 3 (Thr), 6 (Pitch) and 7 (gyro - tail gain).

Note that the files are intended for ultra beginners, so the rates are toned down a lot. I suspect the tail gain is what's causing issues with your current file, but the problem may affect other pieces as well. But start with this, then if you are still running into issues, post the ini file you are using on your 7e.

I strongly suggest you take off the blades when trying out a new ini.

i tried suggested ini file....and sadly same thing no real power from the tail rotor. I checked tail motor, if by any chance was damaged but it is not, it has full power...

You wrote that tail gain might be the problem - but if you put rudder stick to full power than no matter what is the gain, power should be 100% ? correct? Gain is just how sensitive giro is?

I like my heli to have 3 d settings to the max. That is why I bought assault100 as it is more hard core than super cp (with brushless upgrade ) .

Hope anyone can give a solution.

I'm disappointed that wasn't much help. I took a look at the RCG thread for the HCP100S, and there were a lot of notes. This post has an ini from a long-time Deviation user, and I don't recall seeing one like it here.

Have you tried to disconnect main motor plug, giving FULL throttle and than give full rudder right and left ?

yes did that with super cp - no power

I've tried this ini file and it spins out
