DSM Binding to E010S

I am looking to get a tiny whoop as my next quad, so far the E010S looks like the best option, but my transmitter is currently a stock Devo 8s loaded with Deviation 5.0, for the E010S my only choice for the protocol is DSM, and I am uncertain whether or not I can buy this quad and connect to it. The Deviation Site does not specifically say DSM can be bound, only DSM2 and DSMX,

Is the Devo 8S backwards compatible?
Or do I need to find a new quad that supports DSM2 or DSMX?

The manual for the DSM version seems to indicate it is DSM2
