T8SG power on was created by Eric B
When I turn on the transmitter it shows a USB symbol. I have disconnected the battery and tried again with same result. Not sure what to do at this point. I am new to this forum. Transmitter was purchased in Dec 2017 had been using it with a simulator for Liftoff and Freerider. If any other info is needed I can provide. Help

Most likely transmitter filesystem damaged. You need format Tx USB drive and write filesystem from firmware archive. Use "Safely Remove Hardware" after writing filesystem.

Inside the battery box you can find mini-USB connector, connect it to computer. For USB mode press ENT and power on transmitter. Format USB drive. The firmware archive you can get at Nightly Builds:

Well I Can't seem to get the file to transfer to the transmitter after I unzipped it. Followed your instructions. using windows 10. Frustrated could there be something else wrong with transmitter?

I am unable to format the drive. I can find the transmitter in devices but I can't do anything with it, and I can't find it as a drive, this was tried on 2 different computers.

If you can't find USB drive with transmitter at USB mode, probably your transmitter is damaged (flash memory chip SST25VF016B).

Sorry, it is my error: to enable USB mode press ENT and power on transmitter. At your case USB mode always enabled (USB symbol on the screen).

"EXT + power on" = firmware update mode (black screen). Use DfuSe Update tools v2.31 for update firmware.

I finally got the darn thing to show up as a drive. Instead of holding the EXT button when powering on I held the ENT then I could see the drive. The drive was full so reformatted. reloaded and all is well.
Thanks vlad for your help. Is there a protocal for a bugs 3 yet? Again thanks for the help
