T8SG USB problem was created by Goochman
I just purchased a used T8SG and am having a problem connecting it to my PC.
I am new to all of this so hopefully I am just confused.
It’s one of the older models so I took the unit apart connected the USB cable to my PC and to the transmitter.
I turn the transmitter on while holding the enter button and the USB symbol stays on the screen and doesn’t go away and my computer is not recognizing the transmitter.
I bought a brand new micro USB cable.
Is it possible there’s different types of micro USB cables?
Any help is appreciated.

Hello,
It's not a question of usb cables, that's for sure.

Are you trying to upgrade the firmware (bootloader mode?) or add .ini files?

Oh - and you have a battery in the TX right?

You may also need to check for an updated driver. You did download and install DFuse, right?

I use Zadig for drivers. I'll try my jumper when i get home tonight. I know sometimes I have to try different USB ports on occasion.

If you press ENT + Power On, you will get USB mode to access USB filesystem. For firmware upgrade you need press EXT + Power On, then DfuSe can detect transmitter.

Thank you guys for your help. I was finally able to get my t8sg to connect to my PC. However I am having an issue installing this--deviation-t8sg-v5.0.0-7867ad5.
I used the DFUSE upgrade tool to install the file in DFU mode with no problem.

I have been watching as many videos as I can and my problem comes when I enter usb mode after installing the firmware in DFU mode.
When I go to the drive for the TX I am not able to delete the existing files. My PC will not delete them.
iIs there another video that explains any of this in more detail?
I totally screwed up what the factory software was on the TX. I just want to be able to wipe it clean and add the new file so I can actually use this controller with the Bugs 3 drone. That is the main reason I bought this controller and I have not been able to use it.
Is there a T8sg instructionally video for dummies?
Any help appreciated.
Thanks

On my device manager that shows all the USB drives it should be under USB controllers. Also, I had to go to view, and hidden objects, and there it was! You can find the videoon Youtube if you search T8SG failure. There is also a link to the video on the Jumper website, jumperxyz.com, under the manuals and links section. I also posted my fix on my other string "T8SG Plus " Do not download STMicroelectronics" . Lengthy post, step by step, and using the manual as well. And make absolutely certain you are downloading the latest, correct, firmware.

Go to the User Manual link in the left column for Devo 7e/10/12e (similar to t8sg). Follow the directions in the Installation section to do a fresh install of deviation firmware (available in the Downloads link). That should get the tx going as long as it's not a hardware problem.

If you havn't access to USB drive, try to flash and boot once custom build (t8sg_v2 or t8sg_v2_plus) with bulk USB flash memory erase:
