What advantages to upgrade FW?

With that said, I would like to get back into the flying by starting with some smaller indoor heli's then working my way up to a 700 class.
Would I benefit from flashing a new FW into the radio?
The about on the radio read as follows;
Hardware Ver. 1.0
Software Ver. 1.5
Library Ver 1.0.8

When it starts-up there a message stating channel 3 is 98% safe, no clue what that means, then I touch the screen and it closes
Following this, the system boots to a screen with a Heli icon, where there's a tool icon at the left, though it doesn't seem to be responding to touch.
Also radio appears to be bleeping on regular intervals, no clue why, whereas none of the screen functions appear to be responding.
Anyone got any ideas as to what's going on?

With that said, and in the event that someone else is looking to go down the same path, I would caution against it, as the Deveation 5.0 update for the DEVO 12S does not seem functional in it's current state.

For the update file. The devo 12s has to be flashed 2 times firmware
firmware dfu fash firmware tab lib.dfu under the library tab. And the screen calibrated and the sticks calibrated.
been using deviation on my 12s for quite sometime and it does work. But to get the full benefit you need to install devo 4 in 1 module.

It is not responsible to change a firmware on a remote control without first having thoroughly familiarized yourself with the firmware. Especially when using 700 class helicopters. For this you can find a manual and many answers in this forum to your questions.
With the Deviation firmware I have been operating many different models for many years, today I have 23 models. I have had many different remote controls, but my Devo 12s with Deviation is the best combination I have had so far.
1st tip: Warnings from the throttle channel should be taken very seriously.
2nd tip: Read the manual.

And while I would love to be able to say it served me well, I cannot, as I have barely used it all of two times since I purchased it - and that's on me entirely.
Therefore and if anyone is interested in a like new DEVO 12s with metal case and accessories such as; opened/unused receiver, strap, spare battery, remote connectors for flight-sim etc. please don't hesitate to contact me.
Otherwise, the unit will go in storage until it is no longer viable - which is a terrible waist really
Beyond that, I'm really stoked with the T16 Pro, which seems very well made, and fully open Tx compliant, which is a feature that I have been wanting for some time, but was not ready to the pay the premium for.

I've been contemplating a price, do you think it's worth 100 dollars?

Whatever the case, it beats rotting in a storage bin.
