Deviation and Spektrum Software SPMTX.SAX

Hello Group, Has anyone had any luck opening Spektrum SAX files and editing them?

I want to know if it is possible to trick a Spektrum DX9 radio into thinking it is a DX18 so that I can unlock extra channels on the DX9. As far as I know, they both have the same 'internals'. It appears that the only thing stopping me from loading the DX18 software is the serial number stored on my DX9 does not match a value that the DX18 software is looking for. I have a valid DX18 serial number and I was wondering if Deviation can read and edit serial number on the DX9. Apologies if this does not make much sense......but it does in my head
