Does that background have transparent parts?
I wonder, if the background picture is all transparent, will the desktop image properly repainted when the text changes?
It will for sure if the whole page is redrawn with each refresh, but may not if the boxes are redrawn on their own...

No. The image for the box uses transparency and is redrawn every time while the background is not. If the image is too smal for the textl (or is transparent in an area covered by the text) there are some artifacts staying on the screen.

That's what I was afraid of...
...but then how the trims are drawn, because the trim background can be transparent, but the pointer doesn't leave dirt when it moves...

- draw the screen background where the slider was
- draw the trim image containing transparent areas or not
- draw the slider
and everything will be fine.
We can do that for boxes too (I would prefer to establish a new type of boxes with a special descriptor). Or we do not allow transparency in background images for such elements.

We would have to change the code to use an image as background. So we can alsoFDR wrote: That's what I was afraid of...

This was only a quick test to show what could be possible - the point is: everybody could use his own background image because it is a real image file.Pattaya01 wrote:

Thanks for all your feedback guys.
According to your feedback then I will stick to the original design just quarter and middle marks on the sticks, then I will pull request only these changes Phractured will decide.
On the other hand if deviation is stick to a slim, transparent and efficient design and relying on bitmaps for themes. I think that we should be coherent with all the GUI and then we should flat the buttons, comboboxes etc...
Following your recommendations then I will pull request the flat version of the bars (see attached screenshot to check the final version).
PS: Thanks for your support and patience rbe2012 I really appreciate your help.

Hi People,
I just saw that the final design of my trim bars were not include in the final release of deviation, just a pity ... even if they look a bit better.
On the other hand I would like to know if someone is working in the interface of the DEVO 12S.
We are not taking any advantange of the big screen of this transmitter and some of the menus does not look good at all.
i.e the main config icon windows appear center with lots of space on both sides, I would consider to change and make larger icons with text description...
