GUI upgrade for DEVO12S was created by Lyndros
Hi all,
Firstly I would like to thank everybody involved and making it possible.
I have been using deviation for a lot of time and I really like it it flexibility and functionality but in my humble opinion lacks a lot in the GUI with a DEVO 12S.
I am not a very active user but In the past I collaborated just a little and improved a bit the trim bars further more I also tried to update the Devo12S but I remember that some people did not like the idea to have different specific files for the DEVO 12. So basically at the moment vast majority of the menus (of Devo 8 320x240) are just centered in the DEVO 12S screen... which is very modular and useful from the coding point of view but it makes the DEVO 12S GUI not very user friendly, and all menus look incoherent (tab spacing etc...)
I have in mind several ideas that i would like to share with the masters:
- For example in the load screen we do not need a tiny list of models, with just the first 6 it would be more than enough, you can always scroll down. Having larger icons make the interface more touchable user friendly. I think that when i am in the field i do not want to get out the stylus to change a model. (see screen below)
- So larger model icons would be nice for DEVO 12S if possible.
- Bigger buttons and icons if possible in some of the screens will make the interface more touchable friendly.
- It would be nice if we could define size of the main components, trims, bargraphs, boxes etc... (i do not know if this is already possible from the configuration file).
Attached you will see some examples of the current menus in a DEVO 12S with latest deviation release... as you can see tabbing, spacing, location in most of them is diffent...
I hope nobody here missunderstands me i want to be constructive and improve our beloved system, they are tiny details but tiny details is what really make the difference.
Cheers!
