Multiple modules per model was created by mwm
I just had a thought. Haven't done a look at feasibility, and no idea when I'd have time to look at it, so I thought I'd throw it out there to see if anyone thinks it's impossible.

The taranis has the ability to run up to 32 channels using the internal rf module and a module in the bay with 16 channels each. Seems like we could do something similar, and allow two (or more?) protocols in a model, so long as they used different rf modules. So you could have a DSM Rx using the CYRF module controlling your aircraft, and a FrSky Rx using the CC2500 module for your gimbal, camera, etc. This would get around the 12 channel limit on all our current protocols, allow us to use BNF/RTF models with external receivers to get extra channels (something I have an immediate use for), and who knows what else.

Since all our protocols are FHSS, RF interference shouldn't be a problem, though some older protocols may have timing issues on setup. Might have to bind them in two steps - anyone know how the Taranis does this? Chip interaction could be as problem. The CYRF might be a special case, given its unique status. Modules on the multi module might not work in this mode even if others do, or maybe you couldn't switch between them And I have no idea how well it would work with the universal module with a shared antenna.

So, anyone know a reason that this would be impossible? Better yet, anyone want to implement it?
