I think small fonts (7e/10) should be an option in the transmitter config

I think they shouldn't. Fonts are huge, so we don't want to waste space for such an option.
If you prefer the smal fonts, overwrite the default with them in the media folder, and I think you will need to edit the config.ini as well. I think there is a skin posted in the appropriate forum...

Fonts are not huge, and we have room to play with

Compared to what?
Together they are over 1MB, so they are the largest content in deviation...

ok good point, is there a better way to store them like indexing a bitmap (like we do with the toggles) or is that actually larger?

I'm not an expert of fonts, but AFAIK they are already stored as bitmaps.
It's just too many of them if you want to support the whole unicode character set.
You can spare some space if you only need the english alphabet...

I see there are a lot of different test builds, i have to say I only instal the nightlies and not the test builds.
Maybe it is possible to review some of the test builds, like the telemetry etc and merge, combine some tests into an upto date nightly?

Yes, I agree with that, but I think we need somebody have merging rights to coordinate the process.

Changes are getting merged in regularly. Test releases aren't getting cleaned up nearly as well.

In particular:
  • I just deleted devo6-extra-inputs; it's been merged.
  • I also deleted my mixer-beeps test build, as it's been superseded by the voice alerts build. But it's not ready to be merged into the nightly builds yet.
  • The FrSkyTelemetry test build has zero testing beyond mine, and thus is not ready to be merged.
  • The new toggles test build was rejected by PB since I had to delete the standard GUI to get it to fit on the 7E, and since it changes the model.ini format, it has to go on all of them. Still there because we're expecting the space issues to be dealt with at some point.

PB's stuff is either not ready or already merged, but he hasn't been around to clean it up.

Indigo's stuff isn't ready, and he also hasn't been around recently. Hopefully, we'll get the DSM changes evaluated and maybe merged, but I'd expect at least one more test build before that happens.

I think the rest of the protocol test builds have already been merged.

So what's really needed isn't so much review, as a little bit of cleanup and people providing some feedback on them. That's why they are there, after all - so people can test them and let us know if they work!

Do not ask me questions via PM. Ask in the forums, where I'll answer if I can.
