Missing Modules: NRF24101 - error on Devo 7e was created by MrPickles2009
I just installed the 4-in-1 Multimodule that I bought from banggood. I wired it according to this guide:
https://flexrc.com/2017/05/10/how-to-install-rf-4-in-1-module-to-devo-7e/

Whenever I turn on the Devo 7e transmitter it says "Missing Modules: NRF24101". I confirmed that I did all the wiring correctly.

Here is my hardware.ini:
;Only useful for transmitters with an after-market vibration motor
;enable-haptic=1
;
;switch_types: 3x2, 3x1, 2x2
;extra-switches=
;
;button_types: trim-all, trim-(left|right)-(up|down|both)
;May occur more than once if necessary.
;extra-buttons=
;
[modules]
; there is no need to enable the cyrf6936 module unless
; it is wired to an alternate port. It is Enabled automatically otherwise
; enable-cyrf6936 = B12
has_pa-cyrf6936 = 1
enable-a7105 = A13
has_pa-a7105 = 1
enable-cc2500 = A14
has_pa-cc2500 = 1
enable-nrf24l01 = A14
has_pa-nrf24l01 = 1
; enable-multimod = A13
If I do enable-nrf24l01 = A15 instead of A14 then no protocols work.
I can still fly all my old DSMX protocol quads when enable-nrf24l01 = A14 but cannot bind to my frsky d4r-ii on a new quad I built.

Anyone know why I'm getting this error?

A15 is pin 50 of MCU.

ok. currently it is connected to pin 2 of the mcu. Is pin 2 A14?

The pin shown in the picture at the link in the first post is pin 50, which is A15. The pin 1 corner marker is in the right lower corner of the photo.

The NRF module is not used for Frsky, so the binding issue is something else. Try adjusting Freq-fine up and down in steps of 10.

Does the Frsky protocol have an asterisk in front of it? On the 7e the error dialog can only show one missing module, even if more than one is not found.

There is no star next to Frsky or Frsky-V8

Don't know why but I am also getting an similar error with my devo 10. I changed the enable NRF24L01 = A14 to = B7 and then it can be recognized. I can bind intermittently but the models spin in a circular motion rendering them unflyable.

I was able to get models to work successfully. Syma x5c, jjRC x1, Eachine h8s 3d and even a AFHDS-2A protocol for a flysky receiver. Now if I can get the bugs 3 to bind the whole reason I deviated my tx that would be great. I am able to get to the fixed ID but binding is not taking place. I think I have the build that supports the auto generated ID but still no dice. Any help is welcomed.

I changed A14 to B7 and my transmitter still said "Missing Modules: NRF24101". I just disabled NRF24101 and i'll probably just buy a flysky transmitter. At least the other protocols work

You should upload your connection picture so that we know which pin you are connected to.

DEVO12,DEVO8S,DEVO7E,DEVO10,Taranis QX7,FS-i6

It's low res image, but I think you interconnected two pins, pin 49 (A14) and pin 50 (A15). Try to solder thin wire to MCU pin, then solder black wire to that thin wire and glue black wire to mainboard.

I'm usually use one thread from multiple-strand wire, solder to the pin on top of MCU, solder wire to it and glue to the MCU by foam adhesive tape.
