But I always was sure that the file system is available in USB mode - whatever mechanism is used to get it into the flash...
Otherwise Devo12-owners can not share their model files because these are packed?
...strange. I must have missed something...
I compiled it all again: the zip-file contains the files you have mentioned and has to be unpacked and copied to the USB file system. As mentioned in the Devo6/8/12-manual the lib-dfu has to be transferred with the dfuse-tool and the rest must be copied to the USB fs.
Maybe a Devo12 user can enlighten us?

Sorry for the inconvenience.
But I still wonder why the Devo12 is handled different here. I will look into the older threads to get an answer; is was surely discussed.
E.g. here:
PhracturedBlue wrote: In Deviaton, the current usage is 380kB for the base system (since the media is not part of the filesystem, and is by far the largest part).
Hexperience wrote: - I already miss having the media folder. I like having a custom background.
PhracturedBlue wrote: You can modify the media folder. just put your files in the devo8/media dir and run 'make TARGET=devo12 fs' to create the dfu. I will be releasing an exe that will create the dfu from a directory (and maybe vice-versa) before I make the official release as well. It isn't as convenient as the devo8, but unless I want to implement wear-leveling, there isn't much more I can do at this point.
So: Vlad, you are right. Thank you for forcing me to learn something new.
EDIT: Vlad has added the link after I have read and began to prepare my answer. I am a real slow writer... The last quotation is from the thread he pointed to.
