Telemetry Page on Devo 10 with FrSky G-RX8

Hello,

is there a possibility to reduce the Telemetry Info Page only to the received Data ?

I´d Like to use the FrSky G-RX8 with Vario and Altitude Telemetry.
For me Only this Info is needed on the Telemetriy Page during Flight.

I would like to add a question, to the use of the G-RX8.

Is it possible to configer to have a voice announcement for the altitude (that I can do) but to get a low pitch sound when vario is negative and a high pitch sound when vario is positive ?

Can't you set up two telemetry alarms for negative and positive vario and then assign each a different custom voice alert in the voice config menu (like "negative vario rare" and "positive vario rate") ?

Thanks for the suggestion, but flighing with a glider it will be a continous repetition of 'Telemitri alarm positive or negative'. Need something very short.

Or define a very short low tone music for the according telemetry alarm in sound.ini (refer to the manual) and add the entry "device=buzzer". Do the same for another alarm with a high tone. This will use the buzzer for vario beeps and keep voice free for other things.

I am affraid I do not understand
Creating a short sound MP3 I understand, but when you speak about sound.ini and add an entry 'device=buzzer' I am lost.
In sound.ini I see entries like ;
[telem_alarm1]
volume=100
f3=150
f2=100
c3=100
But those are never 'played' because I use voice.ini.

You can force the buzzer to be used on specific sounds in sound.ini, for example:should create a short beep on telemetry alarm 1 even though you are using voice (of course no voice will be played on this alarm).

This feature has been there since the very beginning of the voice feature (mwm's work IIRC), it's one of the things I want to move into voice menu 2.0 (see my other thread).

I modified the sound.ini in Media directory (see attachment) as ;
Tried with and without setting a message in the voice menu.

But I still get a voice message.

(Tested on my devo6)

You're right.... I introduced a bug when switching to telemetry and timer value announcements... I'll have to fix it, but it'll be more than just a single line of code, so it'll probably be a week or so to get it done, as I'm busy next week. I'll post a devo6 test build in this thread as soon as possible.

Edit: voice config 2.0 will take better care of thesesthings... But that's still a month to go or so

Sometimes weeks can be really short

device=buzzer should work now as expected. if you put device=all you will get voice without numeric announcement together with the buzzer.

Something is still wrong

With device=buzzer I have the buzzer sound and voice message 'telemetry alarm nr'
With device=all I have the buzzer sound and voice two times the message 'telemetry alarm nr'

Did you have a chance to look at the issue, or should I wait for 'voice config 2.0'.

I just did a quick test using the emulator before posting this build and I thought it worked. I'll work on fixing this, but you'll need to have some patience, just got back from vacation and the weather is nicer to spend outside flying than inside programming

My fix was fine, just had to move it a couple of lines up in the code
Try the build attached on your devo6 please. With device=buzzer or all it should work now, but when selecting a voice on this alert in the voice config menu, this will get overridden and only voice will be played.

Positif and negative 'news'

The positive: with 'device=buzzer', I hear only the buzzer => OK
with 'device=all' I hear the buzzer and then 'Telemetry alarm nr' but no value afterwards ?


What is strange is that when there is an alarm, the screen switches automaticaly from the 'main screen' to the 'telemetry monitor' screen. Not seen that before.

Because of the telemetry alarms comming in slowly i treed to set in the 'telemery configuration' screen the alarms to '1s@xxx', but then I get no alarms at all ?

That no values are announced are announced for device=all is expected behavior and will only be solved in the next evolution of voice config menu (please stop adding stuff to my to-do list )
