Devo7e has a reduced number of control elements to set values to all 12 channels, but with the trim buttons you should be good.
Check the channel test page to see if channel8 changes its output when you push the trims...

I don't have a full sized DSM2 Rx, so have been using a small Arduino sketch that was posted on the RCGroups Pocket Quad forums to put the satellite into bind mode (see attached file).
I don't suppose you could make any suggestion on how I could change this sketch to increase the number of channels?
I'll ask in the Pocket Quad forums too.

It is true that Deviation 7e is 12 channels capable. However, with only two switches as input, they cannot be implemented in full. Using control stick trim as input switches makes the stick itself useless as trimming is one of the major function of any stick.
The logic is, 7e without doing the diode mod is really useless and dangereous. Then, if someone can do the diode mod, why not also do the switch mod as it is really more simple and easy to do than the didoe mod.

Thanks for the input, and the confirmation.
I've updated the model for 8 channels, and the channel monitor and emulator do show CH8 switching when using the trim - I've just not yet been able to see this when using my actual Tx / Rx combination.
I'm hopeful that the Bind_Code Arduino sketch I mentioned above can be modified so that my DSM2 Satellite will recognise the additional channels - I really don't fancy having to buy a main DSM2 RX with 12 channels!
As I said, I don't currently have any use for the Throttle trim - so this is an ideal way of adding two extra switches for "Free".
Once I actually see that I can control the extra channels, I'll be more than happy to go ahead with the diode removal and switch mods (or more likely get someone who knows what they are doing to do it for me )
Actually, I don't understand why more people are not clamouring for the switch mod to be fully supported in the Deviation release code - the Devo 7e, with Deviation powering it, is awesome!
Perhaps, as PB mentioned in another post, it will be more likely to happen when / if virtual switches are implemented.

There haven't been any complaints with the nightlies, so I'd probably recommend that route.

I'm new to all this and could use a little help.
Yesterday I added a A7105 module and did this 2 switches mod.
The added A7105 module is working great but I don't seem to get the extra 2 switches working.
Checked and doubled-checked all soldering and connection points, changed the hardware.ini and did a calibration.
But the extra switches don't appear as switches in the mixer page)
Forgot to mention that I did everything as discribed above (with 2 diodes).
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks for any suggestion and keep up the great work!
Greetings,
Pesadilla

I'm using a new version that has a hardware.ini config file.
In that file I removed the ';' and added 2X2 at the extra-switches line.
But I can't find the switches in the mixer setup.
I suppose that the extra switches (ail-dr, ele-dr) should be there even if there was a problem with my soldering.
What am I forgetting or doing wrong?
You can find my hardware.ini in attachment.
Thank you for your help!!

You should have two new sources to select (SWA and SWB). Have you taken a look at the input monitor page? You might have to scroll down but somewhere SWA0, SWA1, SWB0 and SWB1 should occur (this will be independent from the hardware mod; controlled just by the hardware.ini).

Just tried the latest build also...
I can't find those new switches (SWA & SWB).
I have no problem finding HOLD01, HOLD02,FMODE0,FMODE1,....
Also no SWA or SWB on the monitor page (scrolling down only shows the HOLD and FMODE switches.

I don' have this error when using the protocol folder from an older version
So I'm using the latest build but with an older protocols folder, don't know if this could have something to do with my switch problem.

Didn't install a new DFU on TX, only copied the folders from the new build.
I knew I was doing something wrong... lol
Switches are working now and no more error "missing/bad protocols".
Thanks for the help and keep up the good work!!
