Removing Deviation from Devo12s

I've tried on both my desktop (Windows XP) and my Laptop (Windows 7)
I've downloaded the latest DFuse (V.2.0) and the latest stock firmware version from Walkera. I tried following the instructions in the FAQ and some youtube videos. It seems that the DFuse software doesn't recognize that I've plugged in the transmitter. I click on the library tab, direct it to folder with the stock firmware files and I get a notification at the bottom of the DFuse screen saying "file correctly loaded" - but the "upgrade" button is still dark, can't click on it. I've tried with the radio USB mode on and off.
Nothing comes up in the fields in the top left of the DFuse window (available DFU devices). I know I'm doing something wrong - but what, please help.

I put the stock firmware back and wasn't getting the results I wanted, so I tried swapping back in the deviation and I'm pretty sure that's where I messed something up. I can get the deviation in there and seems to be working o.k., but I want to go back to the stock firmware. I think I deleted a file I shouldn't have. I can't get the thing to go into USB mode with the stock firmware (along with a few other bugs). Is there anywhere that the stock files (as in the ones you can see when installed in USB mode) are available on the internet. I've reinstalled the OEM firmware and that doesn't do the trick, so I think I need the file(s) that I erroneously deleted.
Or alternatively, is there a procedure for loading up everything to a completely blank radio (assuming that I can wipe the thing completely)...?

The installation instructions begin on page 7, and it includes the Devo 12 specific info. If you get stuck, we'll help you get it sorted.

The Devo 12 Stock firmware flashing:

2) Flash (UPGRADE) library file (DEVO-12 Lib v1.0.8.dfu) at 'Library' tab.
