Bought a used Devo 12s and I want to swap it back to the stock firmware.

I've tried on both my desktop (Windows XP) and my Laptop (Windows 7)

I've downloaded the latest DFuse (V.2.0) and the latest stock firmware version from Walkera. I tried following the instructions in the FAQ and some youtube videos. It seems that the DFuse software doesn't recognize that I've plugged in the transmitter. I click on the library tab, direct it to folder with the stock firmware files and I get a notification at the bottom of the DFuse screen saying "file correctly loaded" - but the "upgrade" button is still dark, can't click on it. I've tried with the radio USB mode on and off.

Nothing comes up in the fields in the top left of the DFuse window (available DFU devices). I know I'm doing something wrong - but what, please help.

Use the trainer switch while turning on the radio.

O.K., need more help. Radio wasn't working the way I wanted/expected it to. Probably nothing wrong with the radio, most likely the RX or configuration of the heli - none the less, I messed with it and screwed it up.

I put the stock firmware back and wasn't getting the results I wanted, so I tried swapping back in the deviation and I'm pretty sure that's where I messed something up. I can get the deviation in there and seems to be working o.k., but I want to go back to the stock firmware. I think I deleted a file I shouldn't have. I can't get the thing to go into USB mode with the stock firmware (along with a few other bugs). Is there anywhere that the stock files (as in the ones you can see when installed in USB mode) are available on the internet. I've reinstalled the OEM firmware and that doesn't do the trick, so I think I need the file(s) that I erroneously deleted.

Or alternatively, is there a procedure for loading up everything to a completely blank radio (assuming that I can wipe the thing completely)...?

The filesystem is available with the firmware download. If you're re-flashing deviation, make sure you flash both the firmware and the library. Then hold down the ENT switch while you're powering it on to put it into USB mode.

With the trainer switch you get in dfuse mode only. To get in usb mode press ENT button while turning on the transmitter.

Holding the ENT button while powering up no longer gets me into USB mode.

What are you using now; deviation or stock walkera software. Stock walkera does not have a usb mode. Flashing the firmware and the libary file is enough. For deviation you have to flash firmware, and libary file, format and copy the necessary files.

Well, right now I have the stock firmware installed, but I think it's installed incorrectly, since the radio isn't working right. I'm doing double shifts all this week so I don't have time to explain properly. I'll take some pictures and maybe even some video and post them this weekend. please check back then for a more detailed explanation.

thanks

This is the description of the problems I'm having after trying to reinstall the stock firmware. I currently have the stock firmware installed, but something is wrong. The only skin that works properly is #3, and even with that, when I do the stick calibration it gives me an error message when I finish.

When I try to UPGRADE the firmware I get an error mssg....

When I try switching to the other skins the screen gets a bit wacky...

These links are for some short videos so you can see what it is doing instead of me trying to describe it all...

The fw DFU might be corrupt.
Download it again...

Just tried that, no luck, still messed up.

Tried the 100mw firmware and the 10mw firware, still the same.

BTW, how do I tell if I have a 100 or 10 mw radio...?

None of us really run the stock firmware, so I doubt anyone here has experienced a similar problem.

If you were wanting to switch to Deviation, we could probably help you work through whatever problems you were having.

O.K., then let me try doing this all over again from scratch. Please point me to the instructions for installing the DEVIATION software that is specific to the Devo 12s, I haven't been able to find that one, the closest I found was instructions for the Devo 8.

The installation instructions begin on page 7, and it includes the Devo 12 specific info. If you get stuck, we'll help you get it sorted. :)

If something wrong with interface, you need reflash library file (DEVO-12 Lib v1.0.8.dfu) at DFU 'Library' tab.

The Devo 12 Stock firmware flashing:
1) Flash (UPGRADE) firmware file (DEVO-12 FWDT v1.5A.dfu) at 'Firmware' tab.
2) Flash (UPGRADE) library file (DEVO-12 Lib v1.0.8.dfu) at 'Library' tab.
3) Set stick mode.
4) Calibrate sticks, knobs and sliders.
5) Set time.
