Walkera was created by Tom Z
Due to all the confusion here I have deleted the file and remade it.
This time I didn't use any virtual channels as I found out they we not need.
It was OK to have and use them but I got rid of them anyway.

I also corrected the gyro gain value when I found out there was a special way to convert the walkera gyro gain to deviation gyro gain. I was close before but now it is exact.

I have posted the new model in a new thread.
Look for Walkera CP Helicopters - Beginner or Standard settings.

This model will work on the following helicopters.

1. Walkera V120D02S
2. Walkera V120D02S V2
3. Walkera Mini CP
4. Walkera Super CP
5. Walkera Genius CP V1/V2
6. Walkera V100D08
7. Walkera Master CP

Hello, I tried to use this config file on Devo 10 with Mini CP, but somehow the behavior is quite weird. I'm new to deViation, can you please let me know which part should I twist in make it work on Devo 10?

Hi, can you explain what behavior is quite weird?
I'll see if I can help you out.

You should be able to import the model and fly it.

Hi, what program are you using in the youtube video. I assume it allows you to save the .ini file for the model. Thanks

The program used in the video is the emulator. And yes, it allows to save .ini files.

Hi - thanks for sharing your config. I've been trying to use this for my V120D02S and DEVO8S, however when setting up servos, head and linkage I have problems with one of my servos not being level. How can I sub trim *one* servo?

Thanks
M

You can find this in the respective servo's channel (AIL, ELE). I haven't checked but there may be some mixing done by the FBL unit and leveling *one* servo might not be possible. But do check this please, I'm not near my heli atm.

Thanks, yes I have checked this. When I sub trim ELE or AIL it affects the virtual channel, not the individual servo.

You should not have any virtual channel with the Mini or V120d02s (or any FBL heli), they have FBL units that mix the swash internally.

Read this please, by Hexperience:

Where are the Gyro settings located? I just want to look. I tried to find them but failed.
I had it setup in the MIX switch the Devo 10 Walkera FW for POS 0 & 1 @ 75% and POS2 to 50 for setup and such.

Will this be the same but for 85% in the Deviation FW?

Thanks

Walkera FW uses 0% to 100% values, where deViation uses -100 to +100 values. (spektrum also use the 0% to 100% values)

If your heli manual says to set something at 75%, then you double it, and subtract 100.

75x2=150-100=+50
30x2=60-100=-40
etc

To be honest, I never looked at the walkera fw for more than a few minutes, so I need someone to confirm that walkera fw is 0%-100%. (Seems like some settings are, and some are not...?)

The Gyro settings for Walkera are on channel 7.

The original fw used 0..100% for the throttle and probably for the gyro too.
All the other values were -100..+100%

Thanks Guys, I have the Master CP & Devo 10 w/2.1.1.

I'm really new with this so have patience please?

Thanks for telling us where the Gyro settings are. I am interested in this because as you may know, Walkera's Gyro setting of or below 50% in Walkera numbering terms disables it so you can do adjustments with no Gyro interference.

I like the three options of the this models FMOD switch and wonder if I can setup the Mix Switch POS2 for a 50 or less Gyro gain setting or would that be in Deviation terns 50 x 2 = 100 - 100 = 0%?

This is what the Master CP user manual says to do in the Gyro menu on all Devos but for the 7e. Walkera uses the Mix Switch for their Gyro stuff.

So.......... if I can't have a separate switch to kill the gyro for a fast setup observation & adjustment mode I guess I would just have to be not lazy and go into Ch7 and lower it/save/ and make my observations and/or adjustments and then change it back.

Or if it is possible to move all the Gyro settings to the Mix switch?

Thanks

DeViation uses values between -100% and +100% for the sticks and switches. So you have two formulas to recalculate the values (as Hexperience has wtitten above):
  1. Value(Devo) = (Value(Deviation) + 100) / 2
  2. Value(deViation) = 2 * Value(Devo) - 100
And you can use the MIX switch instead quite easy: go to model menu, mixer, down to channel 7, down do switch1 and change it with some times left to MIX1, further down until switch2, change to MIX2, up until "save" and back to main poage an you're done.

Thanks, Sorry for the delayed response, I didn't hit the subscribe box. I am used to having it auto on other forums.

I am still struggling with this whole thing and why the interface has to be so different but I know its like it or leave it eh?

I see the nightlies are including a Standard mode and that's going to be more like it if it flies in a release.

I read the Deviation manual and have to flush one train of thought to get another and its a disaster.

Hiya!

I think those files might have been deleted because they were causing a bit of confusion...

TomZ explained the concepts on a thread on the internet somewhere else about scale flying and his theories are spot on!

Here's the version(s) I've been using for my MiniCP, its loosely based on the originals but I can confirm they are both tame and indoor safe for newer pilots!

Setup for toggle Icons for low-Rez Tx's like Devo10, you "fancypants-color-screeners" may have to redo your main page if you choose to use this! I use 400mAh batteries and the timer is set accordingly.

Assignments:

Gear = TH
MIX = D/R
FMOD = TH/flight mode (takeoff = 0, cruise =1, holy @#$% = 2)
RUD D/R = stops timer if you are testing larger batteries
ELEV D/R = gyro from 80%(default) to 65%
Aile D/R = gyro from X to 50%

expo = none -add as required

Model # 3 = outdoor use suggested
model # 6 = indoor & noob friendly

Hope this helps! :cheer:
