Icon Formater Software - free to use

For those, who like me, are not familiar with Gimp, don't purchase Photoshop, etc.. and like to get there own model picture into their Deviation Tx. I wrote this little software to format any jpeg, bitmap and other common image into the right format (96x96,16 bpp, rgb 565). It's completely free to use and distribute so in returns be cool with complains
To use it just unzip, run setup. When installed launch the application, select your image in File-explorer or on your desktop and drag and drop it into the application windows. You then will be prompt to "Save as", just select name and location of the new file. Then copy that file to your Tx (or save it directly on the Tx), and it should work.
Just try to contribute.
Any comments in that way are well come

This icon formatter is for the color screens?
Because as far as I know, the Devo 7e and Devo 10 uses 52x36px icons correct? Just wondering.

Cheers!
Not sure it you intended to continue to work on it, but it would be excellent to have options for scaling. Ie. Crop rather than scale.
But again, works very well as is...

I got this error message above. Had to reboot my machine.
Does it work with Window XP?

Thanks for your suggestions. I currently do not have time to work on it, but I will add cropping function and format management for other transmitters (Do not have a look on the dev of Deviation for Devo 12 screen, but it will probably use bigger icons). I will also try to manage transparency, but I already try to do it, and it's not easy.
Anyway it's nice to see that tool is used and appreciate. Thanks for your feedback.
To Esssen1 : Did you extract the zip before to use ?

it's really a great tool, easy to use... and I have spent so much time with annoying graphic work.
I have implemented in my deviation-branch a way to use bigger icons for the models (normally 96x96; my version can show every size).
Would it be possible to implement a method in your tool to create images of different sizes? Maybe with some sliders and a way to choose to keep the aspect ratio of the original image?
One more question: does the created image support transparency? How do I have to prepare images so that transparency can be recognized?
BTW: no problems using it in WindowsXP (SP3) - I simply called the DeviationIconFormater.exe without any installing.

Transparency is not currently supported (see previous message, probably cross yours).
I will try to add custom size in next version, are you still using a perfect square image ?

Great tool! After fiddling with GIMP installation for quite a while just to get the right data storage format the use of your tool managed the job within minutes.
Now as a new motivation after half a year silence:
It would be great to add the ARGB1555 16 bit transparency data storage option to your tool - this would be the final cream on the tasty cake
In any case thanks a lot for your help!

Glade to see that it's still in use. I'm currenlty late on some professional project so not so much time for developing that tool (I didn't even flight for the last 6 months ) But I'll try to have a look on that transparency problem asap.

I guess everything in life is down to priorities - and of course hobby issues should always stay on P1. Furthermore in business life you just receive money - here indeed you can enjoy honor, appreciation and applaus.
So far regarding my limitted amound of psychologic skills trying to squeeze out of you what I like to use.
All the best,
Jo.
