Ardupilot APM 2.6 model was created by seaholic
Has anyone been successful building a model for the Ardupilot AMP 2.6 for Devo 10
and quadcopter. I would attempt to write one, but I have no clue were to begin.
I am asking for some help on this one.

I have built Vtail quadcopter that has been very successful flying I like to but the APM on this one and step it up a notch from the KK2 board.

Thank you
That is a great site. I got as far as config. The TX.
I see they do not have the Walkera listed.
I`m beginning to wonder if I got the right TX now?
I still have a problem calibrating the compass. ( to many access points) So for now its checked off the preflight warnings.
For the TX , I am guessing the first step it to change the PWM on the switches?
This is going tobe challanging for me concidering my knowlege on the TX is a step above just turning on the TX and scrolling through the menues.

It is fairly easy to make the model, What receiver are you using.
I am in the process of building up a model for the 8 channel receiver. I have the first 5 channels done, was trying to decide what switch I wan to use for the other channels. I have a devo 8 and devo 10. It will work on both until I want to add tilt to the camera then the Devo 10 will be used for the variable knob.

I have a Devo 10
I tried changing settings on a spare model
with no luck. My Vtail just starts to spin to the right when throttling up.

Did you setup your flight modes on channel 5?

No, I picked one model out of the 30 models in TX list and tried changing settings
on the elev, rudder and rudder mixers. It seems I do not have a clue on what I am doing. I cant even set up a switch to turn lights on and off. I would like to know how. TX 101 would be nice.
I`ve been tinkering around for about 12 hrs. It seems to go from bad to worse.
I noticed on the radio calibration my throttle and radio 5 in the APM were changing values in unison. So I am defiantly lost on this. :sick:

Here is mine so far.

It will work on your 10, the icon on the screen may be missing , but you can change it.

I set channel 5 up as follows
FMOD will select 3 flight modes. Then flipping RUDD D/R will give you two more modes on FMOD.
Gear switch will over ride FMOD with one more flight mode ( I was going to use it for return to home)

SO you should be able to set up 6 flight modes in the APM software and tie them to the switch modes above.

I do not have my APM yet, it is on the way. So have not tested or confirmed I have everything right, but from the simulator it seems to work fine.

Channels 6-8 can be used a number of ways depending on your needs.
I can see where one would be used during auto trim then when complete change it to another function. That is why I did not program them yet.
I ordered a gimbal mount so it will need a channel as well.

That was quick, thank you so much. I will have to make a few copies just in case
I mess up. Which is highly probable. 6 modes should be good start. That should keep me busy for most of the day.
You mentioned using the simulator, was that the one from Arducopter sim.
I looked at that, didn’t see any instructions, but looked like a good idea.
I assuming you attach the APM and rx to the computer for it to work ?
The APM you ordered is it 3D robotics or a clone ? I have a clone with the external gps and compass. The compass has a slight problem, it wont calibrate . I eather have to many or not enough data points.

After about 2 days worth of tinkering and adjusting, I was able to get the Vtail to fly couple feet off the ground. Only after I changed the frame mode to Hex copter. I could not get the V or Vtail frames to work at all .
Also had to reverse rudder ,ele and yaw in the TX .The Vtail oscillates side to side rather badly. I went into the APM planner/ tuner and lowered the P settings on the rate roll ,rate pitch from .1500 to .1300 at .0050 points at a time.
I also lowered the P settings in rate yaw from .2000 to .1700. could not see any improvement. Not sure what the next step is?
The Arducopter model loaded in the TX with no problems.
Assigning flight modes to the switches wasn’t to bad this is what I have so far.

APM flight Modes
1.RTL l
2.Loiter
3.Hybrid
4.Sport
5Alt hold
6.Stabel

Rudder switch 0
Fmode 0= Stabe
1= Alt hold
2= Sport

Rudder switch 1
Fmode 0= Sport
1= Loiter
2= RTL
Gear =RTL
