Blade Torrent 110 was created by cestus
Hi there,

I have a Devo 8s with Deviation 5 installed.

I want to fly the new Blade Torrent 110 (still waiting on it).

Can anybody help me to translate these settings (attached) into a model file?
I struggle a little bit in understanding how to make the switches.

Thx a lot for any help.
Oliver

Hi Cestus,

I see you tried the Patreon page. However, I've really stopped doing that because it wasn't generating any work.

I have no idea what the Blade Torrent is, and I'm not familiar with any of the radios listed on that setup. Do they have setup for one of the RTF radios like a DXe or DX5e or the older DX6i? Failing that, can you find the manual and post a link to it? The settings don't make any sense to me - B is the flight mode switch, but nothing in the table that references it changes when it changes. H is a throttle arm, but it isn't otherwise mentioned so I don't even know if it's a 2-position switch, a 3-position switch, or something else.

If you've got it and assuming it's some kind of multirotor because just about everything is, I'd start with a standard 4-channel model using the DSMX protocol, reversing the AIL and RUD channels in the channel settings as indicated by the settings. If it doesn't arm, try a mix on channel 6 that uses a 2-way switch as a source and a MAX/MIN mix and see if toggling it arms (do all of this with the props TAKEN OFF). Since they only use 6 channels, make sure that you set the model to 6 channels as there are bugs in the deviationTx protocol that make some 6-channel Rx's misbehave if bound with deviation trying to use more than 6 (or is it 7?) channels.

Hi,

sorry I found the info here and saw it was still active :P

It is a little racing copter, manual is here
www.horizonhobby.com/pdf/BLH04050-Manual-EN.pdf

I will receive the model very soon and give it a try.
I assume too, that I will need the motor switch on chanel 6 to get it running (hopefully).

I totally struggle understanding what they mean with the Switch B.
Simply a 3-way switch on chanel 5? Could it be so easy?

Shouldn't be. I thought I turned it off. Months ago. Oh well.

Sure looks like it. That's pretty standard for Blade 'copters. It also means you could do the stagility mode hack to get self leveling with no angle limit.

Hmm received the model today and made a setting.

At the moment I am not able to bind?
At least the receiver did not indicate any binding and the model does not react..

Searching... maybe i'm doing something wrong.

Okay, strange.

I remade the model from template and now binding works :)

The motor switch works too, I can arm the motors.

But strange behavior:
As soon as I make the motor switch on, the motors are running.
Slow but running.
Throttle works normally, but I cannot make the motors off oO

Throttle is at -150 and the motors are still running.

I cannot check flying at the moment, kids are sleeping :/

The manual says you stop the motors via the arm switch. That's also normal behavior for the older Blade quads I have. Some FC software has a setting to control whether 0 throttle actually stops the motors from spinning or just cuts them to very slow value. They do this so you have yaw control even with the throttle all the way down.

lol you name it :)
It is a normal behaviour for this copter.

Today I was able to fly during lunch time :)

Settings work perfect, and this copter is a BEAST.
Totally incredible how much punch this thing have...

I will upload my config later, in case someone else needs it :)

Hey, will this also work on a Devo 7e or would it be a different configuration? This is only my second model and I'm not at all sure how to make it work. Thanks in advance for any and all help.

Devo 7 is not supported by Deviation at all, so no, this won't work on it.

The 7E has a different set of switches than the 8. He uses RUDD DR for the moto switch, and that doesn't exist on the 7E, so no, it won't work as is.

On the other hand, to make it work all you have to do is change the switches to use ones you have. The 7E is unique in not having any 3-way switches (though you can add them), which might be an issue in this case. I wrote a tool called "straight" (thread at www.deviationtx.com/forum/6-general-disc...ersion-utility#36057 ) that automates switch conversion, but it didn't get a lot of use so I stopped development

Info on transmitter switches is in the wiki: www.deviationtx.com/wiki/transmiterswitches

First thanks to everyone here, I'm extremely new and for the most part confused. Does anyone have an .ini file for the devo 7e and this machine they could share yet? Thanks

Mine is sitting unused, still, I can't figure it out. Someone will turn up sooner or later with an ini file. I hope. I might try again this weekend.

Guys, there's nothing to this. Just plug the quad into your PC and fire up Betaflight. Once you bind then you can set things up however you want. You can select whatever channel or switch to use for flight modes, arming, airmode, etc. On my Torrent however you have to unscrew the screw that blocks you from attaching the micro usb cable. Dont forget to put it back when done. Whoever designed that part of the quad needs a kick in the ass.

good advice, I'm just learning this stuff, just today I learned how to create a nice throttle curve for a machine that's just way too twitchy. A little time and patience and I'll probably be OK ;-)
