I have added cc2500 module from Banggood, SKU130026 (The unshielded, amped module), want to test Frsky.

List of pins:
1-Gnd, 2-Vcc, 3-SI, 4-SCLK, 5-SO, 6-GDO2, 7-GDO0, 8-Csn, 9-TxEn, 10-RxEn

However I read to enable telemtry;
connect PA_Enable to GDO0 (is it shortcut to the TX-En pin on this module?)
connect LNA_EN to GDO2(is it shortcut to the RX_En pin on this module?)

I have now both Tx-En and Rx-En both conneced to 3v3. GDO0 and GDO2 are n.c. The CC2500 is detected but can't bind any experiences with this module and Frsky, anybody has it working?

Small update the module works, have put RX-En to gnd TX-EN to 3v3 Coarse and fine freq adjust at zero.

Set pwr to lowest setting 100u W, I can shift over wide area it continue to work:
Freq Coarse -60, still works but jittery, dropouts.
Freq Coarse/Fine, at zero, works no jitter
Freq Coarse +128, still works no jitter

Is it normal ?

Did you connect PA_EN and LNA_EN both to Vcc as you said, or to VCC and GND as the pins say? I don't recall how the module is wired, but connecting LNA_EN to Vcc is unlikely to work very well. This module also requires an antenna to be properly attached. If it is not, it won't work well at all.
Also, what version of Deviation are you running? You need to be running a current nightly build, but I made a big turnin yesterday to switch to a newer version of libopencm3 and I haven't tested it on any hardware as yet. Possibly it doesn't work as intended.

You should not need to change the course/fine adjustments. They were only for module debugging.

I found it Coarse and Fine labels are likely exchanged. (devo 7e)

Using Fine adjust settings for this module, When out of sync, I can get it in lock at -21, then other side at +49, is it then the right assumption that in the middle +14 is the right center freq?

no. it means you should leave it at 0 and not change it. As I said, there is no reason to modify these values.

Ok Clear, indeed when leaving freq adjust setting at zero I can confirm the unshielded banggood module works our of the box, just to inform zero is not in the center.

Not range tested yet. Currently
Tx-EN to 3v3
Rx-En to Gnd.
Can you confirm how to setup for telemetry, that will be next test.

Could the set failsave from TX be added is very handy feature!

Thumps up for deviation!! Get rid of the PPM, straight digital, it feels already more smooth and reactive than my Sanwa + Frsky DHT-U.

you cannot use telemetry unless you wire up the module as I specified. specifically you need to follow the table here:
bitbucket.org/PhracturedBlue/deviation/wiki/ModuleList
for the 'CC2500 Skyartec' module.
connect pin 6 to pin 10
connect pin 7 to pin 9

the pins are color-coded in the image here:
bitbucket.org/PhracturedBlue/deviation/w...showasparticleid1977

The note about '4.0.1 and earlier' DOES NOT APPLY to you, since you are running the nightly builds.

Edit: Fixed pin connections

Stupid question. When plugged into the MM, is telemetry working by default ? (I don't have yet any FrSky RX but I want to buy one soon .. and I don't know which model should be compatible with DeviationTX (a 4CH or 8CH))

yes telemetry will just work when using a multimodule.
I believe all frsky transmitters will be compatible with Deviation, though the newest ones will need to run in compatibility mode for telemetry until I add S.Port support.

cc2500 module from Banggood, SKU130026 (The unshielded, amped module)
www.banggood.com/CC2500-PCBA-2_4GHz-Wire...Module-p-922598.html

Pinout (labels printed on the module)
1-Gnd, 2-Vcc, 3-SI, 4-SCLK, 5-SO, 6-GDO2, 7-GDO0, 8-Csn, 9-TxEn, 10-RxEn

It looks idendtical to skyartec module:
bitbucket.org/PhracturedBlue/deviation/wiki/ModuleList
I beleive pins are wrong coloured / displayed in the skyartec image.

I linked also the following pins;
Pin6 GDO2 - pin10 RxEn
Pin7 GDO0 - Pin9 TxEn

Uploaded the nightly 22nd of june, no telemetry receiver voltage, RSSI, working yet.

most likely it is the same module. skyartec is known to sell the module seperate. Bangood buys helis from skyartec its probubly easyest just to source the module from there aswell

I just double checked. You said:

Fernandez wrote: List of pins:
1-Gnd, 2-Vcc, 3-SI, 4-SCLK, 5-SO, 6-GDO2, 7-GDO0, 8-Csn, 9-TxEn, 10-RxEn

But the pic on the Bangood website says:

1-Vcc 2-SI 3-SCLK 4-SO 5-GDO2 6-GND 7-GDOo 8-CSn 9->PA_EN 10-LNA_EN

The bangood connections match the connections I have listed on the wiki. I assume your module looks like this as you said:
bitbucket.org/PhracturedBlue/deviation/w...showasparticleid1977

If so, pin 5 connects to pin 10 and pin 7 connects to pin 9 (there was a typo above, but the Wiki is labeled properly). The colors listed in this image correctly show these connections as well.

If your module doesn't look like that, then please post an image of what your module DOES look like.

That is not the module shown in banggood's page. On the top board there is a device attached between pins 2 and 3 on your module that isn't in their picture. On the ottom board, the pin order is different. This is important because if someone bought it to plug into a MultiModule, they'd be very disappointed.

I would recommend posting a review detailing the differences on their site so noone is misled.

On the module you have, the wiring looks ok.

Indeed you are right!
Easy check would be, the rf side antenna is left versus on the right.

Anyway I can confirm the module works, it has been ordered BG around end of may?. Maybe there is different batches shipped, old/new?

Let us know when there is progress on telemetry and failsave from Tx, will then do some full range field testing in my swift.

Yes, you have to pay attention, BG sells what is in stock and not what they advertise. Happend three times with my NRF modul...:-(

Edit:
To their honor, at last they refund.

ok how do you bind the frsky rx to this module?

I have a x8r and a D4r-II

I have wired according to the CC2500 with the adjustments for the different pinout. as with Fernandez

Thanks

I've tested with D4R-II. For unknown reason, I couldn't bind with a fixed ID. As soon as I use auto-id, it binds and works fine afterwards. However, receiver safe mode setting doesn't work. Accordinly to the manual, the receiver green led will blink twice when I press the f/s button, but it never blinks and it doesn't store safe mode settings. Not sure if this has anything to do with Deviation. Maybe my D4R-II is at fault.
