Yes, this protocol is in the 5.0 release. Doesn't sound like you're missing anything. Does your tx work with other nRF24L01 protocols?
it's not uncommon for the manufacturers to change protocols without notice.

Yep, works great with Cheerson CX-10. Does this mean I've got to dump some SPI now?.. Damn, I ordered this copter for some easy practice with my 7E...

hmmm...FY326 does require the nRF24L01+ module for 250K data rate, while the CX protocol is 1M and will work with nRF24L01.
You can try the 319 protocol option. It does have a different bind procedure.
If that doesn't work, SPI.

I have this:
www.banggood.com/DEVO-Transmitter-Tuner-...ys-V922-p-89812.html
Is this the cause of my trouble?..
Should I go with something like this: www.aliexpress.com/item/E01-ML01DP5-Ebyt...ule/32638720689.html ?..

I can vouch that there is a new Fy-326 red board that doesn't bind to deviation.I brought 1 for 17.00 on eBay and the motor pods and motors are a little smaller than the original green board and red board.I got a refund because I left the seller a bad review for selling me a fake Fy 326 that didn't bind to my devo I also got to keep the junk in exchange for a revised feedback.I had another 1 with great great range that I lost flying.I found the other seller who sold me the good deviated protocol version in my buyers archives if you're interested I'll send you the link.God bless.

I opened a TX of this "new" FY326 and wow! it does not have a tx module! It is just one board with a black-labeleled controller and a radio chip! No shielding, no dedicated SPI pads, nothing!
Here is a pic:
Radio chip in question is LT8910SSC.
People at rcgroups report that manufacturer changed the protocol and is now shipping only those new crappy boards with LT8910. It uses 5mm motors (vs 8.5mm in old revision) and is likely targeted to exploit the name and looks of FY326, by making the it's manufacturing as cheap as possible. This is a totally different quad, I'd say.
