All day of configuring the mixers I managed to get a decent working flips. I have a momentary 3-way switch on my 7e. I used the complex mixer with momentary 3-way switch and FMODE switch. I couldn't get it to work with EXPO&DR..

Here's my model.ini:
[channel6]
template=complex
[mixer]
src=SW B1
dest=Ch6
switch=SW B1
[mixer]
src=FMODE1
dest=Ch6
switch=FMODE1
scalar=0
[mixer]
src=SW B2
dest=Ch6
switch=SW B2
curvetype=expo
points=0,0
[mixer]
src=FMODE1
dest=Ch6
switch=SW B2
usetrim=0

To perform 360 flips i choose FMOD 0 and hit SW B2. The momentary switch returns to center (SW B1). When i'm in FMOD 1 it performs the 180 flip with the same switch (SW B2). So it works more or less like the original tx. I guess you may need a button or a momentary switch like mine with this configuration.

Thank you again for this build Goebish!

EDIT: I noticed a con in this configuration. Everytime i cut the throttle to zero, or land the quad in FMOD 0 mode and continue flying, it performs the 360 flip, when i give it a full direction :lol: Weird. Also when i switch back from FMOD 1 to FMOD 0 it performs the 360 flip. It doesn't do unexpected flips in middle of normal flight though.

I am for rate as in stock , mostly because of the flips

I got it to work with this current build so i vote for keeping it as it is. No changes ;) If it ends up in nightly with the changes i have to start all over again and i worked my ass off, the whole day to get it working :lol:

I'm against the rate option as it doesn't fit into the concepts of deviation or any programmable tx for the matter.
It can be easily achieved through programming DR with the mixers...
The question only is what value you choose for the 100%.
The usual way is that the absolute maximum channel value should be around 125%.

I agree with FDR.
From some time ago, most protocols remove the "channel rate" concept.
Better to use a DR mixer.

Excellent work! I've run my H20 through three four batteries so far and I'm having a ball! :P

I like using the normal DR rate approach as I have re-purposed an ini I have from another 2x2 with all the data rates, throttle hold, etc. It seems like my normal 60-80-100 rate setup is pretty close to the stock TX setup... wow does this thing move in 100%!!!

It took me a bit to get the hang of flip, because on the H20 it seems to be flip mode, as opposed to a momentary push here, flip, push here, flip, like the stock TX. It does something when I first engage channel 6 to go to flip, but if I stabilize it will blink one-two-three-break, etc., and I can flip all over the place! It looks like the "something" is trying to RTH, and if I let it, the H20 seems to just get going sort of toward me and not stop until I kill throttle. Oddly, I have to toggle my Fmode (channel 6) to get the lights solid again and then it flies normally. Maybe I can sort it out when I take it to the big field.

Channel nine makes "headless" work great. I don't use it much on any of my quads, but when I flip the switch for channel 9 it goes headless based on the current yaw. In headless at 100% going FFF doing pirouettes it is a blur! I've got a big living room, but the crashes were really spectacular!

Once again, your magic is amazing! Thanks for the great work.

Thanks for reporting :)

Looks like what is the "360° flip" flag for the H8 3D acts as RTH on H20...
I'll make a protocol option to have RTH & Headless on separate channels for H20...

Just to make sure: can you confirm that pressing right stick enables RTH on H20 with stock TX ?

This is a side effect of having 180 & 360 flips on the same channel, maybe I should make it work as on stock TX:
- for the H8 3D, one extra channel (#10) selects 180 or 360° flip, another channel (#6) performs flip
- on the H20, this extra channel engages RTH

Tell me what you think.

You get thumbs up from me. I don't mind the extra flips but if it helps the H20 hex, then give it a go!

Hi goebish! I just tested your new build. I can select only 9 channels for this protocol on my 7e. You spoke about an extra channel #10.

Ok. Got the 10th channel but with quick messing around with it, could not figure out how to do the 360 flip :S

if channel 10 is in low position (<=0), channel 6 performs 180° flip.
if ch 10 is in high position (>0), ch 6 performs 360° flip.

Yes figured that out just now! Thank you very much! Now it works properly. No unnecessary flipping anymore.

EDIT: No something is not right. I'm sure it's my noobiness but it sometimes does the 360 flip and the other time it does the 180 no matter if i'm in FMOD0 or 1. But really got to go to sleep now. Have to get up early for work. Nightly nights!

Just had to try one more thing and I think it works now but i'll test it more tomorrow afternoon..

Works! Now it's a good lil' inverted quad. For me it was a disappointment with the stock tx. It had awful range. I had to make a hole for the antenna. Also i needed to switch the thumb pads to 7e's original sticks :lol: still the tx was not for me. Thinking of getting the h20 board to make my first franken hex :)

@HexFet, can you add this protocol to your combo release ? :)

I'd like to crack tx id / rf channels before making a pull request, but I need a few more captures to figure out how it works, please help :)
