FrskyX LBT EU was created by Wene001
Hi
Are there some Infos out there about the new FrskyX LBT (Listen before talk) Protocol for us EU people?
Ther are rumors that this Protocol has a bit more range, too.

I am afraid there will be no benefit on a Devo TX with this protocol. We already transmit at the highest level with the
CC2500 modules (17.7 db).
The difference into range seems to be a 2.5 db higher output level with LBT. How they did this, I don't know, maybe this
power level was restricted on their hardware before LBT .

Edit:
If you refer to a certain YT vid ...this guy uses a X9E.

Devo7e, TaranisQ X7, R9M , 4in1 MM, Futaba FC18plusV3.2 & DFT/FLD-02

in the moment it is only legal in the EU to buy and import Frsky Receivers with LBT Software.
In fact there is some interest to use this Receivers.
I know downgrad is possible, but its not legal for new Receivers in the EU.

I have some Devo TXs and a new Taranis X9E (EU LBT) , and it would be great to use the new LBT Receivers vice versa.

It would be useful to have the LBT EU D16 protocol as well as the international version. I am not affected because my taranis was built in 2013 but many new FRSKY users are going to be affected by locked down transmitters only able to use the LBT format. I wouldn't be very happy if I had to reflash a Rx every time I wanted to swap transmitters.

I have asked this question before and I think only very limited number of people are affected so there is no real interest..... I am happy to be corrected over this.

Also, I have not had any issues importing international X-series receivers into the UK.

Wene001: "EU-legal" means you need a transmitter with a declaration of conformity (KE=Konformitätserklärung) for vendor/distributor/importer of the transmitter, HF-module and compatible protocols.

You won't get that with Devo TX, CC2500 and implemented FrSky/FrskyX or even FrskyX LBT own C implementations.

And XCiteRC KE is only valid for the original Devo transmitter with DEVO 3 channel DSSS protocol @ 10mw (no FHSS, no ETSI 1.8.1 compliance). Not any other stuff...

But I agree with you.
Flying DSMx (FHSS) "half-legal" (with no DeviationTX/Devo TX KE) at max. 100mw makes me feel better than this DEVO max 10mw stuff or suspended DSM2 stuff...at least there is a Spektrum genuine DSMx KE or this FHSS, even it does not apply for DeviationTX/Devos.

So, would you feel any better flying with no KE at all but with a "more FrskyX LBT-EU compliant" C protocol code?

Are there any plans to support LBT?
I have a bunch of LBT receivers and would rather not downgrade them all.
I was unable to bind a D4R-II.

midelic posted about it in another thread a couple days ago. I took a quick look but didn't have time to grok it. It's on the list but just lots of work these days. Pull requests welcome :)
