I just ordered the single 24L01 module. I have to trust the seller he is using the genuine chip.
I can also donate a 4-in-1 module if you are interested.

Thank you but I already have a 4-in-1 that I don't use because it's the first version with the RX problem with nrf24l01 and a7105.
Here's a "good" nrf24l01 module: bit.ly/nrf24l01_palna

Well I can get you the latest version direct from the Chinese seller. It might serve as a reference for your future development.
I can also strip the XN297L module from my 2nd transmitter though you have already ordered one.

I'm afraid that even the latest version uses a fake nrf24l01, I'm fine with multiple modules in my Devo, no problem
The XN297L breakout board cost $1.35 USD shipped, cheap as chips !

The new build performs just like the previous one. I will try again with single NRF24L01+ modules as soon as they arrive.
By the way the XN297L document asks for higher accuracy crystal (20ppm instead of 40ppm ) for 250kbps application whilst I do not see such constraint in NRF24L01+ (60ppm) datasheet.

Ok, that was expected.
I think (but I'm not sure) that the problem is that the nrf24l01 is not using the same frequency deviation for GFSK modulation.
It can be fine tuned on the xn297, maybe some values make it totally incompatible with nrf24l01, or only with lower frequencies.
Looks like bind stage (2402 MHz) is working, but not data (2470-2476 MHz for your 2nd TX capture)
I wouldn't worry about the crystal accuracy, all those toys are using crappy crystals

Ok, I'll wait for the XN297L breakout board to make more tests then.

I also tried 3 modules from 3 suppliers and again no improvement was observed. The Banggood module will take at least another week to arrive but judging from Seby's trial I suppose there will be no surprises.
Let us know if you come up with other possibilities that we can try.

No, I think of nothing else you can try, can you confirm that the quad has a reaction (leds or something ...) when you try to bind, even if it doesn't work ?

It binds for a second or two with steady light and then fails with blinking lights. Exactly the same as the very first build.
However I just retried without the transmitter and it behaved the same way too. So the short period bind was not a real bind.

Shall I make SPI capture on the quad transceiver?

Sorry for the late reply, looks like I don't receive notification emails, again ...
I just received the xn297l breakout board, I'll try to find enough time this week-end to have a further look at that

That won't help for now, but if I can get it to work then it will be useful later, to help crack id / channels.

No problem just take your time. I also have ordered some genuine NRF24L01+ from Nordic Semiconductor's authorized distributors as well as an Eachine E010. I am interested to see if the genuine chips will make any difference

The naughty quad has not yet agreed to bind. Did you discover any new ideas with the breakout board?
