Mjx Bugs 3

Just tried deviation-t8sg-v5.0.0-e15ee22.dfu No sign of any change to the normal LED boot sequence for the Bugs 3 in the absence of a Tx.

When u say rx board. Did u mean perform capture on this?

Yes, that's the spot. If you can make some captures there it will help Only need to connect the three signals we identified on the tx module (and ground). The captures would be:
1) Power on the quad only, no tx.
2) Binding to stock tx.
3) With bound stock tx turned on, apply power to quad.
4) Attempt to bind with latest deviation test build.

I've looked at the other captures and there's some confusing parts to this protocol. One example is a couple of what appear to be control bits that have an alternating pattern, but the pattern is not consistent for all the captures. May still need the receiver in hand to make progress more quickly.

Sure i will try. But I need to borrow the multimeter from my colleague first before i can identify the ground again so i can only do the capture on monday.

Thanks, but it seems like the SPI analyzer isn't quite set up the same or maybe the leads aren't connected to the same pins as they were on the tx. There's no packet id field in the CSV file so it can't be easily interpreted. Since it's only a few files please upload the raw captures (or at least one) and I'll check the settings.

The SPI settings are correct. I'm thinking you maybe exported from the options menu instead of from the SPI analyzer. Right click on its settings icon and export from there.

These are good, thanks. Something strange is that the receiver appears to be listening one channel below the channels in the transmitter captures. The A7105 does have some facilities for automatic frequency shifting but both the tx and rx initialization is the same and does not turn those features on. Looking for some explanation.

There seem to be some difference in the packets captured when i do a side by side comparison between the stock bind sequence and deviation bind sequence captures. Would those packets made the difference?

The receiver isn't receiving anything from the deviation code. Is that what you mean by the differences?

I did find a problem with the SPI analyzer settings in the bugs3 and testing logicdata files, but it doesn't explain the channel offsets. The next to last drop-down should be set to CPHA=0. Didn't notice before since it didn't cause any framing errors. May be best just to upload all the raw files from both tx and rx, or put them somewhere to be downloaded. Might need some other tweaks too because this didn't change the values for the channels.

I updated the test build (e1f2572) to use to the channel numbers in the receiver captures. Please make a receiver capture trying to bind with this version. Based on the captures it shouldn't work, but need to test.

I have recapture all the Stock TX and Quad with the CPHA=0 setting, hopefully this gives a more accurate reading.

Thanks! These all look good and clear up a couple uncertainties, though nothing critical changed. Still can't find an explanation in the datasheet, but the a7105 test code does show the rx set to one channel below the tx.

Test build is updated (942bcf9). Changed the channels back to the ones from the tx captures. Changed packet timing slightly and added code to ensure packet transmission complete before moving to the next state. Please make an rx capture trying to bind with this version.
