F7 screen blank after ininialisation.

Category: General Discussions

Starts up fine and initialises then screen goes blue. All the menu's are accessible and settings made in them work to the receiver. Nothing appears amiss except this blank screen. Any thoughts would be welcome. Cheers Peter

Missing Modules: MultiMod after upgrade

Category: Feedback & Questions

The problem is caused by JTAG not completely disabled which was originated in early 2019 during major code restructure. It's quite strange nobody reported this problem for so many years. Maybe most have moved onto other transmitters. Anyway, I've created a pull request for the fix.

Missing Modules: MultiMod after upgrade

Category: Feedback & Questions

Just returned to the hobby after a few years break. Upgraded my Ultimate 7e to the latest build from Hexfet "deviation-devo7e-256-v5.0.0-408f8c0". Got the error message "Missing Modules: MultiMod" right after upgrade. Has the hardware.ini file format changed? I'm using the original multimodule by PB. Appreciate for any suggestions. Here is the modules section of hardware.ini file I'm using:
[modules]
; there is no need to enable the cyrf6936 module unless
; it is wired to an alternate port. It is Enabled automatically otherwise
; enable-cyrf6936 = B12
; has_pa-cyrf6936 = 0
enable-a7105 = S1
has_pa-a7105 = 1
enable-cc2500 = S3
has_pa-cc2500 = 1
enable-nrf24l01 = S402
has_pa-nrf24l01 = 1
enable-multimod = A13

[EDIT]
Installed the official nightly build on 2021-06-06 "deviation-devo7e-256-v5.0.0-c84450e", same problem. Tried the official release "deviation-devo7e-v5.0.0" and it works fine.

Category: Model Configs

Hi,

Other similar models can work too.
This is a model config I made from scratch so may be someone could do it better. Anyway it works for me.
Using the Devo 8s, don't know if it can work on other transmitters. You can change the flight stabilization using the FMOD switch (0=Beginner, 1=Middle, 2=Expert).

I also edit an icon for the BF-109 plane.

Basically I would not use such an antenna cable, because there is an important and fixed matching between the transmitter module and the antenna, to which the cable must also fit. A mismatch could destroy the module in the worst case. This also happens, for example, if you operate the transmitter without an antenna. Whether there is a suitable cable for this I do not know.

I would recommend you to think about a 4in1 module, here all protocols are integrated and you can continue to use the original antenna. 4in1 modules are still available at AliExpress.

Isn't the Devo protocol also provided by the 3in1 module you want to install?

Here is an example picture of a 3in1 module. On the top right of the module you see the antenna connector, which is clipped into the socket.
www.deviationtx.com/wiki/modulelist/3-in-1_module

The antenna cable is removed from the original RF module and the module is then removed from the devo. For this, the 3in1 module is installed and there the antenna cable is clipped in.

There is only one antenna cable that is led from the 3in1 module to the antenna.

Thank you!
I have not notifications for the replies, so I didn' t see it immediately!
I will look at that, I wonder how to wire the genuine and the 3in1 module on the same antenna!

The original antenna works fine with the multiprotocol module. I converted my Devo 12s years ago. The different protocols do not change the frequency of 2.4 GHz, so it fits.

All the answers to installing the module can be found here:

Hi
I' m new with deviation!
I wonder if the genuine antenna from my devo10 could be wired with a 3in1 module, if yes, how? Only one antenna for the different protocols (that are not used at the same time I think!) could be more practical, but is there a risk?
Thank you!

PROBLEM SOLVED.

what any instructions forget to tell you is that there is a procedure to get it to work properly while bricked in usb mode.

it is as follows

turn off tx
plug tx into pc
turn on tx
vooila pc opens it's folders and allows me to format it and replace folders...

it does not work if it is turned on before plugged in...
sounds stupid. but if you don't think about it.... yea you pull your hair out
