Devo10 New Installation problem was created by wcfung
I have been following the manual to install on my Devo 10 and successful up to the step "There should be a USB logo on the screen" as said in Page 8 of manual. After that, i only saw once that my PC prompt me to format a drive. I was stuck there. When I did it again, I never saw the message again to prompt me to format the drive.

The only time after I saw the format drive message, after it disappeared, I tried to Open the folder of the zip and copy all the files and directories inside this folder to the root of the transmitter USB drive, but I don't know how to do that, as I don't see the 2 listings side by side as shown at the bottom of page 8.

Background info :

Latest build 4.0.1
Downloaded the dfu
Devo 10
Did not reproduce on emulator
Window 8

People on forum suggested to manually install the driver along with .inf.
Some suggested to delete the unzipped Walkera firmware file and do it again. All these don't help.

Pls help.

Thank you.

You did the second step at first > formating the flashram and file transfer.
First you must upgrade the STM mcu via the walkera "DevoDfuSe.exe" file with the downloaded dfu for Devo10.That´s the firmware.
After that you can transfer the filesystem to flashram.

To access the STM, please press the EXT button at poweron.
The ENT button is for flashram access !

Thanks for yr quick reply aMax.

I did upgraded via the USB Upgrade Tool with the downloaded dfu for Devo10, and a message "Upgrade successful" was displayed at the bottom of the USB Upgrade Tool. After that, the PC does not prompt me to format a drive, according to the manual.

I followed exactly what the manual says. Is there any omission or mistake in the manual ?

This Devo 10 is a friend of mine who does not know anything about using computer and I never own a Devo Tx. Now the Tx is stuck and cannot boot up as it is half way through and got stuck. Do you mind to give me your email address so I can communicate with you directly to walk me through step by step, as I have so many questions ?

Press the ENT Button while you power the tx on.!
Then on your pc a flash drive will appear.
If you have it already formated transfer the files.
OR...
Format the drive via Windows system menue if you are not prompte...and you are not shure that it would have been finish before.
Transfer the files exept the xxx.dfu file to the flashdrive and
it´s done.

This is for the Devo7e but the procedure will be the same....

Or look for " tom zadar " at Youtube. He has much informations there about the Devo and Deviation.

Thanks again aMax.

I finally got it.......the culprit is my desktop PC (32 bit) which did not install the driver as witnessed in the Device Manager in Control Panel. After I transfer everything to my laptop (64 bit), everything ran smoothly.

..LOL. win8?
Therefore I have on all my machines at least one XP or Linux, not to be involved into things like the lately FTDI raid.

You are dead right, it's WIN8. The one that got it right was Win Vista. Same as you, I hold on to Vista.
