When setting up a bind to DSM2 receivers, I've been using a fixed ID number. Seems to work well with 3 helis using Spektrum, Lemon and Orange brand satellites.

Right. I have 2 Devo 6 transmitters and the same fixed ID numbers on both doesn't allow binding to any one receiver. So the code stored in the receiver must include a transmitter ID.
