wltoys wl 931 as 350 was created by Pavel123
Dear all,
I have one question - please, is it possible to use Devo 6 transmitter, in case that I will use Deviation firmware for Wltoys WL 931 as350 helicopter?
I saw the table with Supported models, there are many models by WL Toys, but WL 931 unfortunately not.
Thanks

Hello
Yes you can fly the V931 very well with deviation. Use the same protocol as the v977.

Sorry, I have once more question:
The receiver (control board) for V977 wltoys helicopter should have 2 modes - 3-axis for acrobatics and 6-axis for beginners. These modes should be change during flight by transmitter.
Please, is it possible to use this function using Devo6 transmitter with Deviation FW?
Thank you

Please, I have the additional question - is it necessary to add any additional Tx modul to the transmitter?

If you had looked at the main menu of Deviationrx.com, you would have found something like this.
docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Any...kE&usp=sharing#gid=0
......V931 = V977

you can change from 3-axis to 6-axis (and back) with a flip of a switch.
and you have to install an extra module: nrf24L01.

Has this been tested? WLToys tends to muck with their protocol stuff sort of randomly, so while you may be able to bind and fly one aircraft with the controller or protocol selection that works with another, the extra features (like switching modes) may not work. These two have different Rx boards (HT-WL06R vs. XHT-WF-06R), so this may be the case here. Maybe someone has verified that all the functions of the 931 can be accessed from the 977 RTF Tx?
Do not ask me questions via PM. Ask in the forums, where I'll answer if I can.

At least the transmitter is the same. The parameter on the rx boards for 2 or 3 blades may vary.
I do not know if these transmitters have special models to select.

If they use the same Tx, then all the functions of that Tx that work with one using deviationTx should work with the other.

and you have to install an extra module: nrf24L01.
I found the next informations about wl 977 in this forum:
www.deviationtx.com/forum/protocol-devel...otocol-v977?start=20
and there is written, that the BK2423 module is used in the wl transmitter for wl 977 (if I understand correctly).
It means, that both of modules are interchangeable?

I have the v977 and the v931. They both fly with the same transmitter. In deviation i use the same ini for both heli's. They fly great. specialy the v931.

Thanks, the v931 is very beautiful heli and I would like to have it.
Please, my question is what additional 2,4GHz module must be added to Devo 6 transmitter. In the table RC Model Database is NRF24L01 module, but in the another topic in this forum is the BK2423 module.
Thank you

Many thanks for every answer!
Please, I have once more questions. Sorry, hope, that they are the last questions
In case, that I will have my Devo 6 upgraded to Deviation and I will have additional module for v931 (or any other), it will be simply possible to use both of protocols? - original Walkera Devo (e.g. for V120D02s heli) and v931 heli?
Is it possible to switch between both protocols without edit tx.ini file?
Is it possible to switch between both modules using some switch (e.g. external) for switching power supply between modules and to have active only one module?
Thank you

You set the protocol when you setup your model the first time. After that; if you choose your model on your transmitter, the needed protocol will automatic be choosen, you don't have to do anything else.
After you installed the new modules, you have to edit the tx.ini (or hardware.ini when you use the nightly builts). This is a one time thing, you do not need to change anything again, unless you install another module.
The transmitter change to the right module for you. You do not need to switch yourself.
In the transmitter, you choose witch heli, quad or plane you want to fly. The transmitter then automaticly choose the needed module.

Hi !
I also had purchased a WLToys AS350 and want to use my DEVO 7E radio.
Therefore I purchased a NRF24L01 module and made soldering following the instructions on Daryoon's Devo 7e - RC Groups.htm., the link is to find somewhere here in the forum.
But it doesn't bind.
My firmware is deviation-devo7e-v4.0.1-92e1705.dfu
This is my hardware.ini:
;Only useful for transmitters with an after-market vibration motor
;enable-haptic=1
;
;switch_types: 3x2, 3x1, 2x2
;extra-switches=
;
[modules]
; there is no need to enable the cyrf6936 module unless
; it is wired to an alternate port. It is Enabled automatically otherwise
; enable-cyrf6936 = B12
; has_pa-cyrf6936 = 0
; enable-a7105 = A13
; has_pa-a7105 = 1
; enable-cc2500 = A14
; has_pa-cc2500 = 1
enable-nrf24l01 = A13
has_pa-nrf24l01 = 1
enable-multimod = A13
I don't know whether the last line is correct: enable ? Disable ?
I also found out that the last line of the tx.ini ist filled with NUL, which isn't with the hardware.ini. Does this matter ?
The heli's radio is OK, it binds instantly with the original radio.
Also the DEVO 7E radio, other protocols like DSMX are working.
Now I don't know how to proceed.
Any help is appreciated.
THX in advance
Gerhard
