Hi,

maybe a dump question, but.....
A model file as posted on this site has a layout that is readable.

Once loaded in the Devo10 all "enter/return" is gone from the file, ending up whitch a big bunch of unreadable data.
So befor I would like to edit the values, I have to put a lot of "enters" again..:(
Might be very simple, but how do you people maintain the layout?

Example: original file (downloaded from this forum)
name=TestName
mixermode=Advanced
icon=PLANE.BMP
type=plane
[radio]
protocol=DSM2
Etc.

This will be changed bu the Devo in the following line (one very long sentence) like this:

name=Sonic64mixermode=Advancedicon=PLANE.BMPtype=plane[radio]protocol=DSM2Etc.

Your problem will occur if you use a text editor that does not respect the CR/LF.

e.g. Windows Notepad

Many of us use the free Notepad++ program that is available for free. aMax linked to it above.

On the Mac side, I use TextWrangler. And that seems fine.

Thanks for the info.

Installed notepad++ and it works.

Would be easier though to use the notepad from the stoneage, but I'll have to live with this one.

Although there might be an option if editing in Excel or something similar to change parameters, because you have a better overview of the settings. Like the Devo 7 editor (screenshot attached) makes things quite easier.

I think that is not possible?

Somebody could certainly design an editor since it is just a plain text file, but I don't believe anybody has bothered to replicate such an editor for PC. You can use the emulator if you want to run the actual TX editor on your PC with the keyboard.

As pointed out by others, Deviation and Unix/Linux systems use a single line feed character to end lines, but Windows uses a carriage return + line feed combo (LF vs CRLF), so because the CR is missing the end-of-line is not interpreted correctly by basic Windows editors. Notepad++, PSPad, UltraEdit, and even Windows WordPad will handle just LF though.

I found there is some binary padding (0x00) data at the end of my .ini files. Can I just ignore/remove that or will that make bad things happen?
