I am trying to update my Devo 7e to run Devention firmware. I have installed the Defuse USB software, this looks like it worked. I plug my USB cable into my Devo 7e transmitter and into my computer. I press the EXT botton on the transmitter and turn it on, it goes into Program Update mode. I then go to select the upgrade botton in the Defuse USB software and the upgrade botton is grayed out, you cannot select it. I have reinstalled the software and rebooted my PC and still no connection. My PC is running windows 10, and I am using the latest version of Defuse software 2.?? and Devention 5.0 firmware. According to all the post this should be a no brainer. Would really appreciate some help.

See section 2.2 of the user manual in the Wiki ( www.deviationtx.com/user-manual/user-manual-7e-10 ), is your Devo 7E being detected in DFU mode at the top?

*** Walkera Devo 10 * 4-in-1 Module * Deviation v5 *** *** Walkera Devo 7E * A7105 Module * 2x 3 Way Switches * Power Mod * Deviation v5 ***

I believed you have to right click on DFU program and run as administrator. Try that.

My Devo 7E is NOT being detected in DFU mode at the top. My USB cable is plug into my computer and to the Devo 7e. I have the "Program Update" screen showing on my Devo7e.
I just ran the DFU USB driver installer program 1.1, thinking I might have a driver problem
Then I reinstalled the Walkera Dfuse USB upgrade tools 2.31 program, but I still cannot see the devo 7e being detected in the DFU mode on the screen.
It's as thou my PC is not seeing the Devo 7e transmitter
I am using the USB cable that came with the Devo 7e package.

Any help is greatly appreciate.

I check to see if the driver shows up in device manager and it does NOT.
So I have Dfuse software loaded on my PC, I have the USB cable plugged into the computer and the devo7e, I press the ext on the devo7e and then turn it on and I still don't see the devo7e show up in the Dfuse software.
Is there something I'm missing.

Take a look at your device manager. Does STM shows up in the USB ?

If it does not show up , you need to fix that first. Let me see your device manager screen shot. It has to show up somewhere in the device manager. Any yellow ! ?

Did you read the section of the Deviation manual that talks about Windows device drivers? I believe that is your problem and it is a Windows issue, not an issue with your Devo controller.

Too many hobbies & too many Devos!

This problem is fixed, I have 3 USB cables that are bad. Not sure how 3 USB cables go bad, but they do. The 4th cable worked and I now have deviation software on my controller.
Thanks for everyone's contributions, I really really do appreciate it. :) :)
