mwm, If Joe Bloggs goes in a shop and buys one, it's a standalone product. If he then buys a second one he may start crashing models because it's different. Leave well alone!

Iroquois wrote: fneuf, I wasn't trying to imply anything. I just don't understand why people are trying to make the two transmitters identical. If you take the T8SG as a standalone product, there's nothing wrong with it.

I tried to develop your point, as I understood it.

Iroquois wrote: Who is trying to make it identical? The hardware is based on the devo 7e, there isn't really any difference already just a couple of quirks with the T8SG that need improvement.

I guess it was partly driven by the fact it was initialy running devo7e build. It leads people to think it was Jumper's intention to make a TX really close to the 7e.

@dc59 @norulers : do you know why "mini USB" connector was chosen for the T8SG ?

That's true for any product that supports software updates. Different versions of the software behave differently, that's sort of the point.

But it's not a standalone product. It doesn't come with an aircraft - you have to get those from someone else. Whenever you change a component in your system - like replacing a transmitter - you need to check that everything is functioning correctly. You sold also be testing basic functionality every time you fly. If you could that, you won't crash because of any of the software changes we're making. If you don't do those tests, you're a danger to yourself and others, and should stick with RTF toys that really are standalone products.

Do not ask me questions via PM. Ask in the forums, where I'll answer if I can.

My remotely piloted vehicle ("drone") is a yacht.

dc59, I havn't tool for scheme drawing, so I will try to describe SWG and SWH connections by text:

sw.name__bus(MCU pin # )___diode__switch__bus(MCU pin # )
===============================================
SW "H" = PC.6 (MCU pin 37) ●--►|--●--○ \--● PB.6 (MCU pin 58)
SW "G" = PC.6 (MCU pin 37) ●--►|--●--○ \--● PB.8 (MCU pin 61)

fneuf, Pardon me, I didn't write your second quote. If you only have one transmitter it can only be a standalone product. Actually, I think it's better than the 7e anyway, but then I only want it to fly models.

mwm, And if you do those tests you don't ned to make it the same as another transmitter anyway. Surely, if it came with a model, then it would be a standalone product. I suspect we are two nations divided by a common language.

Hi Mike,
Regarding this RX , it's a 8ch F-FHSS compatible RX , Jumper got problem with this RX , there are only 4ch can be used when it bind to T8SG , but it can use 8ch when it bind to Futaba 14SG , Jumper can't figure out what's happen.

It should be fixed in the latest nightly, please report.
