got a very primitive spectrum analyser today and started to perform some test on the Devo 7e's power measurement.

Before any mod on the 7e, I have compared its output with my Devo 10 setting to 100mW output and found that the 7e is about 10dB down..

After shorting the diode and perform some measurement again against the Devo 10, I've got the following screen captures for you all to analyse.. (I've taken 4 captures for each transmitter so that you can average out the data)

thank you PB for his great effort to benefit the community here..

put in a VL911 transmit modue, able to bind the 911 without problem.

One issue is that the 7e cannot memorise the last selected model after powering off. Every time I switch the Tx on and it stay on a particular model ..

anyone get the same?

With the diode shunt mod, I love the 7e better than the Devo 10 for its smaller size, easy to carry around with my tiny birds..

When reporting bugs, please make sure to tell me the hg version you are running. The code is under heavy development and bugs may be fixed in newer releases.

further to that, I have made changes to Mode 1 and the 7e is not able to register after powering off... changes to model icons do work tought..

checking the file system found it didn't write to the tx.ini file..

making changes to the tx.ini file manually via USB works

Used to have the same problem
Had to set batt_critical=4400 in the tx.ini
(was set higher by the emulator)

Make sure you have a correct tx.ini file

My devo 7E would not save anything until i used a tx.ini from the devo 10.

I have put a tx.ini from my devo 10 and the 7e was able to recongise the settings. In fact, I am able to fly my vl911 with the devo 10 file now. The issue remains that the 7e seems not able toupdate the ini file.

Devo10's tx.ini file can NOT be used at 7E directly,
Please check it :

Mine is saving changes just fine with a devo 10 tx.ini.
But then again i use a tx.ini for the same revision of the code.

I simply just think that it cannot handle a tx.ini with invalid values and just skips saving.

The tx.ini that is in the filesystem.zip has no default battery voltage set, so it should initialize properly whne the tx is first booted. If you copy the tx.ini from another tx you will absolutely have issues though.

strange that not able to find the filesystem.zip nor the txt.ini in the deviation-devo7e-b76ac7445568.zip nor in the deviation-devo7e-ea9ee2c4a03d.zip

btw, which version is the latest? ..5568 or the .... a03d?

you should use the one from the devo10 filesystem.zip (but not from a real tx)
I would use the build from here:
www.deviationtx.com/forum/builds/1380-de...89f1f-devo12-support

I am going to try to setup an easier way to find the latest builds so you don't need to guess though.

Maybe give this ago www.deviationtx.com/forum/7-development/...tx-build-environment least you'll have the newest build with file system and very simple to use.

I have enabled a nightly-build system.
You can find recent builds here:
These are recommended for the devo7e and devo12 at this time

PB, you might want to add the filesystem to the Devo 7E make/build script.
New users would only go an install whats in the zip and completely miss that you need more files. Its not that intuitive that you need to grab files from the devo 10 build.

Hello PB,

I noticed that in your DEVO-7E Hardware Connections document, there are two switch inputs (B5/C7 and B5/C9) are not being used. Any chance that we can added two more channels if we can do a bit of soldering?

and the soldering shouldn't be difficult, no need to solder on the SMT.. :)
