I'm curious, where did you find A7105?

All I can say is "You guys rock!!!" Expecting delivery this week of the final components I need to build three of the universal multi-mod boards. Can't wait to try it out. After that, I'll probably look into the Single Board Universal module.

Regards,
Mark

I am indeed, I failed badly making stencils. Using iron and re flow blower. Easier then you think and slow as you would expect.

all being well should have this 1 of 3 made to day. PB has been busy with test code not sure how far off that is. Sure there will be issues with my bit, hopefully not many...

SadSack has done an incredible job. Soldered the entire board by hand:

There was a design flaw in the crystal pads, which he'll need to work around, but hopefully we;ll be able to test it soon

a) It is not something that can be hand assembled (well maybe by someone crazy, but not me). The chips are miniscule, and use leadless packages

For 3 test boards, total cost was ~$150 US. That includes boards from OshPark, and parts from digikey and aliexpress, and all shipping charges (actually I don't think there were any). Not included is obviously SadSack's time.

So these boards cost $50 each (of course since we don't have a stencil, we might only get one board assembled of this batch. I will need to do a 2nd run of boards to fix the xtal, and I'll order a stencil at the same time.

Hopefully we can learn enough from this one that a 2nd spin is all we need though.

I said it before and I'll say it again...you guys ROCK! Looking forward to the test results from this batch and the updated board. I'll definitely buy a few once the bugs are worked out. I am having some issues with the original MMOD boards that I built, but I know this isn't the thread for that topic. I'm gathering notes and will be providing some info in a few days.

That's actually very decent. Probably buying in bulk would drop the price some more.

Anyway, with a stencil and a hot air station I would probably have the guts to do it by hand too, but I'd rather pay $100 for a fully assembled board :)

Not saying everyone should make there own. Once few pads are adjusted and few parts moved and my cockup fixed  Armed with a good stencil + blower ($47) and some care its doable, its not for everyone.

Being armed with a working prototype, I'll actually be able to approach some folks to see about manufacturing. It really depends on scale. The costs would come way down if we could build enough of them.

But that is not a topic for now. I don't need to fill up this thread with requests. Given we need a 2nd round, we are still months away from having a finalized design.
