well you should at least be sure that r9m and r9mm have the same firmware,
do you know the firmware that is installed?
then the only test is to update

Before successful bind with r9mm receiver I would like to be sure that
the r9m module works with t8sg. When I press bind on t8sg I expect that the r9m red led begins to
blink according to the manual. Or if I push the F/C button the led should signal something. Instead I have
always a solid red led that that makes me wonder that something is wrong between t8sg and r9m module.
Flash a t8sg firmware that works for sure with r9m 2019 access is already a starting point.
Can someone confirm that deviation-t8sg_v2-v5.0.0-9e9beec works with r9m 2019 ?
I'm going to buy a usb stk programmer to update r9m and r9mm firmware but I have to wait about 20 days until I receive it.
So meanwhile I would like to understand if from t8sg side is all ok

So you can't tell me which firmware are installed in r9m and r9mm?
Anyway if I'm not mistaken,
it seems to me that in the forum there are many who have confirmed that it works!
just do a little research.
And always if I'm not mistaken
the led that should blink is the one on the receiver!
the button to press during switch-on is on the receiver!

Yes I know that during the binding you have to press the button on the receiver.
But on the manual there is a table of the module led status during the various operations. The leds should react
in some manner. So as I cannot see a clue of communication between the module and t8sg , I don't know
if a firmware update is useful.
Moreover the are three manuals for r9m 2019: Eu , Non Eu and Access.
In the first two PPM and Pxx are mentioned. In the last only Access.
So I don't know even which firmware I should choose.
In the photo posted above in the previous message accst firmware is used, but I don't know if I can use it
because on my module Access is written very big.
I already searched across the old posts and theads to collect as much informations as possible but I can't find
the same r9m module 2019 with the access word vertically near the antenna. Also
the t8sg plus v3 with t8sg_v2-v5.0.0 firmware.

the manual to read depends on the firmware installed,
you don't have to choose the firmware depending on the manual ...
Anyway, you almost certainly have firmware access,
so you have to update, ACCST, and then do the tests.
the communication protocol to choose on the radio is PXX.

Anyone manage to get the failsafe working with this setup? Running iNav and I can return to home via a switch but if I turn off the receiver she just drops to the ground.

I think you have to set up the failsave instruction, inside the flight controller not in deviation.
I think they already told you,
and it is useless to ask for it in 3 different threads!
