Finaly got it working
I used the library file from Marlacus (tanks for that) and used 'Dfuse USB upgrade tools 2.31' and now I have again the voices on my Dev 12.
Thanks to all for your patience.

You are more advanced now than I. As I have no sound...pulpfiction15 wrote: Good news,

Are you using a devo 12s or a devo 12e ?

When the voice.ini (music.map) was in the root it worked nicely on my 12s.
With voice.ini moved to the media folder i am strugling, to get it working
Agreed ...Much easier to have the voice.ini in the root to make things simple..I have stopped testing due to the fact i can't get it working on my Devo12 Hopefully things will get easier once everything is worked out till then i just follow the thread and see what happens..

I have a Devo12S.
What I did is ;
1. Uploaded the voice build
2 Changed the hardware.ini and added the entry 'voice=dfplayer'
3. in /media added the voice.ini and made the library dfu and uploaded that with 'Dfuse USB upgrade tools'
4. added the mp3 folder to the micro sd card of the dfplayer (a mistake I made was to put the mp3 files as root on the sd card, that didn't work!)
now I figured out it is not that complicated. Hope you will manage also.

That's all what I did. I also tested my ppm port by using it in training. That works. Formated the usb drive, reinstalled all.
But impossible to have a sound from the box.
Anybody, please What to test now ?

Nothing modified in the tx. Unfortunately I have neither logic analyzer nor serial to usb converter.
May be I could buy a serial to usb converter but please give me a link for this device and what to do with

I would say merge it to the trunk.
We (actually you ) can polish it later...

Also why is there no detailed instructions on how to use the MKdevo tool? It would really help if there was..

You have probably to rename the file devo12.bmp in backgrnd.bmp in the media directory before making our lib.dfu

I admit there is some polishing to do. Did you check if all beeps work when voice is not defined or a ppm mode activated?

But conceptually FDR is right - too large a change is not good, it's better to merge what you have so that further changes would be smaller and more manageable.

For a devo 12s you can also try the lib.dfu I posted page 22 which worked for pulpfiction15

We are too few for that.Moeder wrote: Your choice. I thought we had the two approval rule back in the days
As far as I see even most of us only care about the things which fall into his interest/expertise, so don't expect too many people will approve it, especially that it has too many files to look into.
Not yet, but I promise I will.Moeder wrote: Did you check if all beeps work when voice is not defined or a ppm mode activated?
However that's not essential, and there is nothing we won't be able to correct.
Yep, we missed you and also Hexfet, but I say it would be easier to test and contribute if it was in the trunk.victzh wrote: I'd say we wait for couple more approvals. This pull request is so extensive - I'd like to take a detailed look. It touches so many things - 88 files, so it's better be on the safe side.
BTW while it affects a lot of files, it doesn't touch any substantial working part, but mostly the GUI and the feedback.
But of course take your time if you want, I would be more than happy if someone with much more knowledge then me would approve it.
I'm just brave enough, because I've tried the test build, and I think it is basically a working solution, which really only needs polishing.

The majority of changes are in #ifdefs, so it should be easy to turn it off in case of something going out of hand with this code. I will look through the changes anyways.
