Is there a way to get V761 protocol on the T8sg v2 plus?

As far as I know, and I would gladly be corrected, all development on DeviationTX has ceased. What there is what is there. If you want more protocols sell the T8SG and buy and OpenTX multi-protocol radio like the RadioMaster TX16S.

Thank you. The RadioMaster is what I have been looking at.

I didn't know that DeviationTX has ceased... such a pity!!! RadioMaster TX16S are so big and we dont all need so many channels...

Then buy a Jumper T12 pro or the new RadioMaster TX12. Both are the same size as the T8SGv2 but run OpenTX

Sure... But I didn't find a community and forum for OpenTX that is as good as Deviation. Also, Deviation is more straightforward and it seems that barely nobody shares their OpenTX equivalent "model.ini" file for different RC. I learn best from reading .ini models and and updating them as I wish. Deviation really rocks.

be aware that the new RadioMaster TX12 only supports cc2500

Very true! I'm using my T8SG for so many different RCs: from sailboat to plane and helicopters... The 4-in-1 RF Module(CC2500 + NRF24L01 + A7105 + CYRF6936) is absolutely great to get rid of crappy toy-grade transmitter that come with RTF stuff. If I ever change Tx, it will be a Jumper T12 (if I can get my head to accept OpenTX)

It is true that the TX12 only supports the CC2500 on its INTERNAL module BUT you can install an external multi-protocol module.

With regard to OpenTX communities you must be looking in the wrong place. I have been using OpenTX since it was originally called ER9X back circa 2005. There are loads of great communities e.g. openrcforums.com, rcgroups and loads of Groups on Facebook.

This forum used to be very good but as none of the developers are ever on anymore you can kiss any chance of new protocols goodbye. Vlad does his best but he seems to be the only moderator that I ever see login and try and help. I help where I can but I am just a user like you.

Like it or not the fact is this project is dying. RadioMaster have killed off the TX8, I am guessing Jumper will do the same with the T8SGv3 and then there is just a whole bunch of ageing Walkera's left unless you like the idea of paying over the odds for a new Devo 8s directly from Walkera.

Thanks for the pointer to OpentTX community. I'll check it out. I'm going to move to OpenTX then... I just started to be confident with Deviation!! ;-D
I'm leaning towards the radiomaster TX12 which looks better than the Jumper T12 in terms of handling and sticks/button but it doesn't have as many RF module as the Jumper

Think carefully about the two. The T12 came out first and is now on its third iteration so is well and truly bedded in. It comes already multi-protocol so you don't have to faff with an external module AND it has 6 switches whereas the TX12 has 4 and two buttons. Do you really want to be pressing buttons when you are trying to fly ???

The roller may look cool but think about the overall usability of the radio

What I can say however as the owner of both Jumoper and Radiomaster equipment is that RadioMaster aftersales support is second to none.

Yes you are totally right. I was about to comment about the lack of true switches on the TX12... this is a no-go for me indeed. Plus the Jumper has hall sensors which the TX12 doesn't have (yet).

the only reason I can think of why Radiomaster is rolling out a downgraded T12 is of commercial politics.
The only major cc2500 implementation is FrSky. They might not think this way but it is the 4in1 that helps them quite a lot in the early market engagement.

Could be politics in trying tu undercut the Jumper T12 or just the normal business practice of sell them crippled, sell them cheap and then charge for upgrades followed by full versions at 40% uplift in cost.

Thanks! I went in the end for the Jumper T12 Pro Black Friday "Special version". Not 100% sure what their "chin-glish" means but at 65$ (+ 15$ shipping), it was a quick decision:
www.aliexpress.com/item/4000837213804.ht...1.0.0.e8be6c37iUeelY

At least, I get Hall sensors, proper switches, OpenTX and maybe some additional protocols with this special version (?). I hope I won't regret it!

should be a wise move if you are not yet deeply engaged in deviation.

I had the original white T12 that came with an external 4in1 module. Was a great radio and I regret to this day selling it. My T16 is big and clumsy. Don't get me wrong it is very cool with the highly customisable colour screen but for drone flying nothing beats the size of a T8SG/T12

I'm not deeply engaged with Deviation as I actually started only this year with it. I was just starting to feel confident and learning another system is fine, just a bit tiring.
I'll keep my T8SG with me as a backup (or for my children later). Like you, I really like the small form factor, only wish the display was more like a phone screen.

Any advice on "porting" RC model settings from Deviation to OpentTX?

see my comment in the early days of 2013

deviationtx.com/forum/3-feedback-questio...ed-id-and-tx-id#6658

Walkera devo 7e was the first innovative hobby grade radio of such a small form factor, remaining the same as at today. Jumper inherited it in their T8SG and T12.

I have sold out all my big radios since then...
