im reading a tons of threads the last days and its really overwhelming how much "Protocols" "Chips" and Flying Objects are out there.

I would like to ask if someone who really understand the differences can line up wich protocols can be flown with which chips. And in addition to this which aircrafts use wich protocols.

I know its lot of writing but probably this post can be sticked and everyone can add up some things he know so we get a little database.

I try to start up this.

Guys the way you listed things will cause a lot of confusion.

Both V91x and V9x9 are FlySky, but Hubsan is not, even if it uses the same tranceiver.
Same with FrSky, it runs on the CC2500, but only FrSky receivers talk this protocol. Models like the Wasp and Butterfly talk other "languages". Wasp has Skyartec as the protocol (as known to Deviation IIRC).

You should have the information organized like this:
Transceiver: A7105
  Protocol: FlySky
    V911
    V959
    etc.
  Protocol: Hubsan X4
    Hubsan X4 v1
    Hubsan X4 v2

and so on.

Devo 10 + 4in1
Spektrum Dx9
FrSky Taranis + TBS Crossfire

Agreed, the FRSky protocol doesn't work with the Wasp.

That would look like:
Transceiver: CC2500
  Protocol: SkyArtech
     Wasp etc.
  Protocol: FrSky
     FrSky receivers. (Not currently working)

There are also different versions of the CC2500 as far as I know. Some with a power amplifier and some without. So that just adds more confusion... ;)

But I do agree it would be nice to have a complete list.

I like the way you have the eBay links there, but may I suggest only posting those that have the built-in power amps, and external antennas? Most don't want PCB antennas, and most do want PA's. A few have regretting purchasing the wrong module later. Don't go by price alone! ;)

The A7105 should also bind also GW Xieda helicopters (9938, 9958, 9968,...) but 1 channel must be inverted I think compared to V91x heli. The Benma helios 100 should be also binding.

Funny, I binded also my L959 with my devo7E + nRF24L01. It should work for all L9x9, L2x2 cars and WL911 RC boat.

hello as read here the solo pro V1/V2 and bravo uses nRF24L01. But is it possible to connect the solo pro V1/V2/bravo with the deco if used deviation and this chip?

why do you separate HiSky HT8 into its own category? It uses nRF24LE1 which is radio-compatible with nRF24L01, so should be listed in the category "nRF24L01, predecessor nRF2401, and clones Beken BK2421/BK2423 and Si24R1". They can all be served by nRF24L01 TX.

PatrickN, answering your original question - the main difference between these chips are in the modulation details. Almost all of them (CYRF6936 is an exception) use FSK or GFSK, but the details - center frequencies available, frequency bias, bit-rate are all different to the point of total incompatibility between main 3 families using FSK/GFSK - A7105, CC2500, and nRF24L01. CYRF6936 uses Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum (DSSS) modulation which is totally different from FSK.

I have not seen anybody reversed engineer and added the old Nine Eagles protocol into Deviation yet.

Kile has a project that allows one to create their own module. Anybody look at the source code and perhaps figure out how to get it to work with Deviation w/nRF24L01 transceiver added?

You can bind the V922 with the nRF24L01 ? For me it's not working ....

V922 a.k.a. FBL100 use the radio chip compatible with nRF24L01. There is an implementation of the protocol in sunvsuv fork of Deviation. I have not built it, so I am not sure how ready it is. People reported that it does not build for Devo 7E due to memory constraint, but Devo 10 should be OK. I will try to build it and if it builds, I can upload the binaries for you to check. I can't easily check it myself - I just moved and my stuff is not sorted out yet, unlike my computer which still can build ;-)

Hi all! Any idea's on what protocol the UDI quadcopters use? I'm looking at the UDI U818A on BG since it comes with a camera etc. And I have spare batteries that will work in it. But don't want a useless module in the tx that I won't be able to use for anything else. If it is an unknown, I'd rather bite the bullet and get the V262, along with spare batteries etc.

Hi !
I am slightly confused :-)

I own a WLToys V262 and a Hubsan X4.
I'd love to control both with a Devo 7E.

Reading the first post i assume that i need two modules.
-1- can i use 2 modules in one 7E or is that not working.
-2- I can harvest the nRF24L01 (V262) from the stock remote right ? 8 i have the switchable one).
-3- what about the Hubsan X4, is there also a usable module n the stock Tx ?
-4- The first listed module says "A7105" but at the end of the item desciption it also says "nRF24L01" ?!?!? Is this a typical seller trick to attract buyers then buying the wrong module ? Or can i use this mofule for BOTH X4 & V262 ??
-5- Is this thing also usable for the X4 ?

Looks like the same with better antenna.

Sorry to bug you guys but i am clearly confused :-)

Please help me out.

You're perfectly OK to be confused, it is confusing matter.
1. Yes, you can. Now it is pretty easy to add two extra modules, just use TMS and TCK for their corresponding CSN lines.
2. You can, but it is most probably the module without PA, so it will be very range limited.
3. Don't have it, don't know
4. It is marketing trick - the first description is a valid one, all others are added to boost search engine response. Hubsan uses A7105 as far as I know, so you need a module with A7105 first in the description
5. No, it is CC2500 module.

1. yes you can use 2 extra modules in a 7e

3. there must be a module, but i don't know if it can be easily removed and reused

4. yes it's a seller trick, and no the nrf24l01 will not work for the hubsan protocol

5. no that's a CC2500, that will not work for hubsan, you need a A7105 like this

oops vitczh already replied while i was looking for a a7105 link with pa, but i couldn't find one :/
