Thank you guys, you are helful AND fast :-)

I found two modules, the first is EXACTLY the one the first post refers to i think:

The second one seems to be really cheap compared to the $20 in the first post, but its the very same, right ?

do you have a link? i purchased my nrf24l01+ from banggood.com here >>

www.banggood.com/DEVO-Transmitter-Tuner-...ys-V922-p-89812.html

much cheaper than $20 and it works perfectly with my FBL80 :)

the one i linked is better, as it has a power amplifier to increase the range, and also the antenna can be placed inside the 7e next to the existing antenna no problems. also here are some links to the 7105

and the better nrf24l01 option

@Harry,
that A7105 you posted NOW is a third of the price !
But doesnt it lack the needed amplifier ?
Or does the 7E do the job of amplifying the signal.
OMG confused again :-)

i can't find a link to a A7105 with a power amp sorry, maybe someone else has a link to one? and i'm not sure how much range you will get without a power amp on the A7105 as i don't use one, but surely it will be enough to fly a hubsan x4 far enough away that you couldn't see which way it was pointing as it's very small lol so i think you will be fine without an amp for the 7105 :) but for the nrf24l01 i will be flying a hisky HCP130 when it comes out so i think the power amp is needed for it

no that has no PA, but it's maximum range is 260m, and like i said before if you flew a hubsan x4 260m away you'd be lucky still to see it so the A7105 without the PA should be more than enough :)

It does have PA, not extremely powerful though. It is listed as 10dBm, which means 10mW output, not 1mW (0dBm) which is totally without PA, and not 100mW (20dBm). As the distance depends on power as square root, extra 10dBm is approx 3 times the distance.

Guys, thanks for helping me out.
I now know which modules to buy, both seem to be available around $12 USD...

I did not get the PA thing before as i thought the signal is still amplified and transmitted by the EVO.
But now i guess if i have 2 modules i have / need 3 Antennas, 1 for the Devo, one for each module, right ?
So the Devo acts "just" like a programmable "gamepad" for the modules, right ?

Yes, you need three antennas. I don't understand completely your reference to gamepad. Devo holds and handles protocol code, modules are just dumb RF chips with amplifiers. It is possible to wire modules with RF switches so that you need only one antenna, and probably eventually we get there, but now it appears to be OK just put them inside the Devo's body, or pass it into antenna case - it is wide enough to hold at least couple of this coax antennas.

Got my module yesterday, soldered pigtails to each of the eight pins. Problem now is I am trying to see if anyone has any documentation on adding this module to a Devo10. I found tones of stuff about the Devo7 but I am stumped trying to find someone or some documentation on adding the module to the 10.

If anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it.

Looked at it 100 times only shows the devo7. The pinouts of the module are well documented, the devo10 isn't.

Waldo, that is because the devo8 and Devo10 procedure is identical, so the devo8 instructions should match what you need.

Hi again !
Hmm, there was some talk hee about modules havin an on-board PA or not.
What do you think: If i buy one of those cheapo A7105 with Antenna on the PCB...
This ought to have no or a very low power PA, right ?
BUT if i connect the Antenna out to a 2W 2,4GHz Booster that shouldn't matter, right ?
Thats the booster i got:
Booster 2W
Or do you think the power is too low even as input for such a Booster ?

(I am asking as i have one of these boosters anyways so i could save a few bucks for the A7105 module).

Ender
