My first experience utilizing the advanced mixer was created by ave1
I bought a 180 Solo pro. The Standard mixer will not suffice as the ch order is not available.
I have successfully set up my throttle hold, (I think).
I have way too much servo throw. How do I adjust pitch for servo throw? Or is that the method?
Not sure how to set expo/dr if I wish too and need too.
If someone would give me example might really help me. I so wish to understand the advanced mixer. Just the basics. I have read the Devo 12S (Devo8)
Thank you in advance. I need the most simple/basic instructions and I wish to experiment to help me learn. Trial and error.

Parameter SCALE can be used to limit servo throw. Click on the mixer name (E.g. SIMPLE), the lower the SCALE value.
Clicking the arrows next to mixer name changes the type of mix: SIMPLE, EXPO&DR, COMPLEX. And as you've guessed, EXPO&DR is capable of letting you use EXPO. Simply change the curve type to EXPO then adjust to a comfortable value.
I'll come back with screenshots if needed, just let me know.

Please explain step by step how you would limit by 50% (or 33%, whatever) all 3 servo throws please?

Too much servo throw you need to turn down the DR.
See these pictures.
The first picture has 100% servo throw (Scale: 100)
The second picture has 50% servo throw (Scale: 50)
Scale is your Dual Rate setting. Turn it up or down as needed.
The Expo tab when you click it will let you adjust how much if any Expo you want.
These settings are:
Picture 1
AILE D/R = 100% EXP +30%
AILE D/R = 100% EXP +0%
Picture 2
AILE D/R = 50% EXP 30%
AILE D/R = 50% EXP 0%
I also made a Tutorial:
Converting deVention values to deviation values
deviationtx.com/forum/how-to/2620-conver...-to-deviation-values

Thank you.
two questions:
Model is unsaved and although I have all the servos moving the correct distances and correctly now, but, I have no pitch. What have I done?

Your welcome. I just added more to the post so you should check it out again.
The model will save itself when you turn off the Tx or load another model.
No pitch? You would have to post the model for me to see it. There are too many things it can be but I am not familiar with the 180 Solo pro so I don't know how much I can help.

Pitch should be on channel 6 and have THR as source.
THR is the throttle stick.

RBE has also tried to help me. I don't get it. pitch is now on the rudder stick. I do not have enough fundamental info to make these adjustments. Some setting (adjustments) I make do not stay or are manipulated by my other changes, as I guess, not sure but, it's late I'm tired and frustrated and will try again tomorrow.
Thank you all!
Thank you all!

jfyi to change channel order when using the standard GUI you have to manually edit the tx.ini file

Does anyone know the channel order that the 180 Solo pro uses below or is it different from both of those?
Posted by: Hexperience
For Devo protocol on FBL controller:
ch1 Elevator stick position
ch2 Aileron stick position
ch3 Throttle stick position
ch4 Rudder stick position
ch5 -not used-
ch6 Collective Pitch (we'll call it stick position for now, more on that in a second)
ch7 Gyro setting
For DSM2/X protocol, the FBL will expect the same information from your tx, just in a different order.
ch1 Throttle stick position
ch2 Aileron stick position
ch3 Elevator stick position
ch4 Rudder stick position
ch5 Gyro setting (this channel is often called the Gear channel on the Rx)
ch6 Collective Pitch (we'll call it stick position for now, more on that in a second)

I will hope to learn the Advanced GUI. But, I am rearranging activating and copying channels without knowing why and how. I get a few swash movements correct and then lose my rudder servo.
I have never edited the tx.ini, before. I thank you for that info I shall remember if worse comes to worse, Ill try that.
But, this can't be this difficult to learn. At least to get this 180 in the air. Since I first installed deviation, I have been lucky and the Std. gui has sufficed nicely.
I keep trying
thank you

ave1, once I know what protocol/channels the 180 Solo pro uses I should be able to make a model for you or you can post your model and I will make the needed changes. I looked around on this site and there is no model for the 180 Solo pro
or we could use it as a starting point and customize it to your settings.

throttle no longer works correctly. It did at one time, last night. I'M spending a lot of time in the user manual. I am looking for a step by step and of course, not going to be that easy. Must go to work now.

Channel order is AETRG. Most likely pitch is on channel 6 (AUX2).

Thanks sbstnp.
ave1,
I don't see where you set up throttle hold.
The DR/Expo looks correct. There are different settings for ALIE and ELEV. I assume you set it this way.
Now that I know the Channel order I can make the model for you.
I need to know the throttle curves, pitch curves, and gyro settings but I should be able to get those from the owners manual.
