Deviation for Devo F4?

Thanks for the reply SirDomsen!

I do not know how to install Arduino and how to program it! I'll do a search and study a little! Can you direct me to the discussion on the 7e?

But I think, the true DevoF4 update or change the memory chip (are pending delivery). This will allow the installation of additional modules that will enhance the DevoF4.

However it remains a 4-channel radio ...... this is a contradiction!

A radio with FPV should have, at a minimum, 6 channels!

I wonder if it's worth upgrading the memory and then not use the potential of additional modules.

It is expected to implement additional channels?
The 4M firmware will enter the Nightly Builds?

Thank you

Deviation always has the same amount of channels. You just lack switches. But you could use every trim switch as a switch for example. Means Stock F4 has the same 12 channels on devo/dsm protocol as every other Deviated TX

I don't know really - If that info is based on Epitaph's traces I assume yes. But I'd rather do the normal switch mod than soldering directly to the MCU. See this post for further information. I also put a link into the DevoF4 section in the Wiki.

In the diagram I place even AIL DR0; AIL DR1.

If Epitaph can confirm with certainty, better!

I await comments. Thank you

MIX0; MIX1; MIX2; it is unclear to me. Suggestions?
HOLD0; HOLD1; it is unclear to me. Suggestions?

Thank you

Deviation has 12 channels in software.

But in hardware, in DevoF4, how do I connect two potentiometers for a 5th and a 6th channel?

There are PINs that have been assigned a 5th and a 6th channel on which to place the potentiometers?

I am sure that in DevoF4-4M version is imperative to have this!

Thank you.

I mean, before using pins on the processor, it would be much better than Devention would add two or three new channels, associating its pin.

Why, no two more channels, it is useless to invest additional modules of this transmitter.
I think Epitaph of my opinion as others!

Thank you

You could try to wire pots according to F7's wiring scheme - but not sure if it works. I used the arduino for my pots which works quite well.
Btw: Don't mess up channels with inputs ;) A channel (could be analog or digital, depending on the protocol) is what the tx sends to your RC model. An input is like the gimbals, pots or switches - which can be assigned to a channel. Because the F4 in stock form lacks switches, you can configure the trim switches to act like a physical switch. Read the manual to get how to.

The 4in1 module can be connected by usual way, in place the original module. Two wires will connect to TMS and TCK and usual problem with third wire. It looks like it can be connected to A2 (pin 16 MCU).

Look at:
www.deviationtx.com/forum/7-development/...dule?start=940#55157

and (A2, pin16 marked by red)

I don't know. The last time I tried to place a pull request with DevoF12E-4MB it was not accepted. Probably too few users of 4MB builds, or something else.

You can get latest 4MB builds at the end of the topic:

vlad_vy many thanks for the answer.

Obviously I believe it is fundamental to introduce the 4M version in the Nightly Builds.

All development Deviation is based on the ability to add modules to the radio, and without greater memory HAS NO SENSE TO INVEST in F4!

How to say it makes no sense Devention in F4!

I exploit your great availability to ask for help.

I discovered this silpstream.com/89/deviationtx-build-environment-and-tools/

There are videos that guide in the installation of development tools and do some simple things like create a firmware or an emulator?

can you help me?

Thank you so much

As I mentioned in the F12e thread, if we go ahead and integrate victzh flash chip detection code, I will immediately support adding FxE-extramem (or similar) builds

I need devo F4 firmware where channels 5,6,7 are active as in F7.
I'm going to do some tests to connect the MCU pins to the potentiometers.
Any programmer can help me?

Hi I am new here. I have a Devo f4 and I wonder if it is already possible to deviate the f4 or if it has been unsuccessful so far? Can one add a nRF24L01 module to control all those Chinese quads? That would be awesome! :)

Yes.
I agree with SirDomsen about reading the thread. Yes, it's a lot to read, but it's packed with helpful information you can use. Better to take it all in one big bite than to nibble at the info you seek, in my opinion.
See the Wiki also ... Find a link to it in the sidebar on the left side of this page.
