Do you think that the color of the screen is "very blue" ? I compare the colors with another display

Moreover, I've replaced original Flash memory chip UPCT25VF512A (512 Kbit) to SST25VF032B (32 Mbit), so now I have "Ultimate Devo F12E"(devof12e-4Mb). It's very simple (you need replace 8-pin chip) and promising mod and you will have: stable filesystem with easy access (USB drive), 4Mb of file space and it will open the opportunity to further development.
SST25VF032B chip is 2mm wider than UPCT25VF512A, so I need straighten pins (about 90 degree to chip body) in order to fit pins to PCB pads. It takes about a hour to implement the mod. I haven't image of modded Devo F12E board, but you can look on original Devo F12E board:
I've added to my custom v5.0.0 build "devof12e-4Mb" and "emu_devof12e-4Mb".

Do you think with a normal soldering knowledge its possible to desolder the old chip ?
You write the new chip is "wider" - so i have to move the "legs" under the chip body - or solder some pins to be able to fix this.
After soldering - and starting with the new chip - is there to do something special - cause i think the F12E is "empty" and not able to start ....
Is it possible to reinstall the original Walkera firmware ?
By the way - one question to the video signal - with the original F12E the picture is 16:9 and i can see all OSD information from my MWOSD.
The other F12E with deviation cuts the picture - so i have to replace the OSD - or do you think its possible to find the "switch" to 16:9

I do not use any additional pins to solder new chip, I bent pins at right angle to chip surface and solder to PCB tabs.
Unfortunately you can't use original Walkera firmware after this mod.
With my build you have to install "DevoF12E-4Mb" firmware exactly same way as for Devo 10: flash firmware by DfuSe USB Upgrade, format USB drive and copy filesystem files.

Not possible to reinstall original software - so good to have 2 F12E
ruben - my second one F12E shows a 16:9 picture i can read all my OSD information - nothing is cut with the Walkera Firmware.

I'm very close to cleaning up the module design and sending it to the guy who makes 4-in-1 modules, it will take him some time to produce the actual modules.
WRT settings that work for you, Vlad. I suspect that you have different, newer hardware, which supports these auto-tune setting for video overlay chip better (that is why they use the settings in Walkera 1.6 firmware version). The question is how to programmatically detect what version you deal with.

Your mod is very interesting, thank you for sharing it with us!
Please consider opening a new thread regarding this topic.
If I remember correctly, a whole while ago there was a thread about changing the flash rom chip of the devo F12E in order to get some functionality of deviation code running which is prevented by the standard flash rom size of it (that time I think it was about space for graphics or model images...). However I can't find it right now...
Best regards
Max
