retrobits wrote: I have the X9 and like it, although not quite as much as the H8 mini. X9 strong points are great vertical lift and stability. It does have good pitch for attacking wind. Maybe due to flex body design or canopy its blown about a little more than H8. Yaw is adequate, but a little slow for my taste. To me its a great little machine, but not quite the beast of awesomeness that H8 mini is.
I'm growing to like the X9 more. It's a wonderful outdoor flier. It's a touch bigger than the H8 which seems to help. Also heavier, 12 vs. 16 grams. It seems more balanced to me -- probably a sign that my model.ini for the H8 needs work. The H8 tends to slide sometimes on turns. (I wonder how the H8 would fly with X9's larger props on it.)
The X9 may flex some, not sure. But whatever it is I like the end result. Good training quad. Small inputs cause it to tilt and move and telegraph its actions. It fights gusty winds better than my bigger quads. Though my fingers get more of a workout while doing it. It's extremely quick. So many times I would have crashed a lesser quad, the X9 powers out of difficult situations. Plenty of power all the way to end of a charge. That's cool.
Edit: They both weight 12 grams. Had a battery in the X9. :-/

However, i have a little concern, i cant bind my frsky receivers anymore since i flashed the new deviation firmware (deviation-devo7e-v4.0.1-ee51ea2 )
i used to use a nightly build, in order to control frsky, is there a way to get them both ?

1. clear & documented instructions with support already built into devation firmware
2. you would get a whole bunch of other & future protocols enabled in the bargain.
this is the one I installed -- works like gangbusters

You can't use the H8 TX module because it's an XN297 based module.
You need to install a real nRF24L01+ module.
Retrobit's advise is right

then the dfu from deviation-devo7e-v4.0.1-fb23eb7 (the hexfest combo) for the H8
copied the protocols
And the H8 model .ini
and the NRF24L01+
I'm not able to bind
Is there a way to debug & try to understand why it is not binding ?
Cheers

BirdBarber wrote: Any news on when this protocol might be available for the 8S?
This protocol is merged into the main branch, so should be available for all Devo models in last nighlies.

The Hubsan protocol is using a different transceiver (A7105).
Do you have really installed an nRF24L01 RF transceiver?
About the differences between + and non + nRF transceivers, the main difference is the lowest datarate possible.
For this protocol should not be a problem to use a non + transceiver.
SymaX protocol doesn't work with a non + transceiver because use a lower datarate non compatible with non plus RF transceivers.
