Looks promising
Maybe 18650 would do. And that 3D print. Mind sharing the STL file?
No problem, I like to share the file.
Please wait, I share it when I come home.

Hey with a 8ohm .5 watt speaker should there be clipping. It sounds like the speaker is getting too much power. Im thinking a 1 watt speaker might be better.

I'm on 8 ohm 1.5 watts and I hear no distortion at all. Mine is too big for the mount but I glued it on top of it on its sides just fine.
No idea with 0.5 watts as I never tried them..

The tutorial here seems to call for a .25w to .5w but that not enough it seems, turning the volume down helps so I think thats it.

Hard to tell isn't it. If nobody is complaining then I guess that should be the right speaker, I put my 1.5w because I couldn't find anything else locally..
Also could be a dud speaker, like bad membrane, or speaker placement causing vibrations on high volume no? Or even the recording itself. You can try mine here www.4shared.com/zip/dCEHF4sMda/voiceEN-Rachel-v11.html

The 22mm speakers are cheap but designed well, Ill report back with the 1 watt speaker when installed.

Recently I bought a T8SG V2 transmitter from Hobbyking and I found out that when I increase power above 10mw I have servos jitter using AFHDS 2A protocol. I tried with
3 different receivers and its all the same. It don't occur for original FlySky transmitter. Similar is for DSMX2 protocol but not so strong like for AFHDS 2A. Any idea ??
regards, Krzysztof

A 2S 1500 is about $10 shipped. 7.4 x 1500 is 11.1wh
4 x 14500 Li-ions 880mah are $5 shipped. 3.6 x 880 x 4 is 12.6wh. They fit right in the 4 x AA tray
afaik from 4 x 14500 used as 4S battery you will get the same energy delivered to device as from 2 x 14500 because of linear regulator in power input circuit. so more than half of your 12.6Wh will be used for heating up this regulator not for something useful
But if you connect your 4 x 14500 as 2S2P battery working time will be 2x longer
Good idea on the 2S2P, the stock battery tray looks like it will be challenging to modify off of series though
My TX is running on 2S2P config with 4x 14500 batteries.
Just cut the wire joining the left negative and positive terminals (not the black wire running at the back) and attach wire as shown in photo, few light soldering and done.
Only soldered the wire from the far left negative terminal. The rest was clamped down by just lifting the tabs and clamping the wire down.
Alternatively, using the same wiring config, you can also use this with 2S1P by just using the far left and far right battery slots.
A very cheap "upgrade" than finding a lipo that can fit in the slot.
Edit:
You can do without but to add a balance wire, just splice from the black wire at the back or solder to any contacts the wire connects to. I soldered mine to the bottom right negative spring and just ran the wire through the hole with the positive wire.

I have a problem regarding DFPlayer.
1. Got latest version on DeviationFX
2. I have placed it on the board (2 pins on the left and 6 on the right removed)
3. MP3 files copied to SD Card (both: in folder and as it is)
4. voice.ini copied to Media folder
5. hardware.ini change:
voice=dfplayer
voice-uart5=1
Still got message "External voice currently not available"
What else am I missing?
Thank you
