norulers replied that there is no 5V power on board, only 3.3V , we need to add a 5V regulator ourselves .............

Last night I installed the dfplayer and a speaker I had lying around within half an hour. Everything is will prepared by Jumper as you can see from dc59s pictures, unfortunately you have to disassemble nearly the whole transmitter to solder the pins on the bottom of the pcb, but other than that I really like it. In a quick test there was no jitter using a 2s lipo, but I will further investigate on this issue.

@dc59: can we update the wiki with your pictures from this thread?
@vlad_vy: your t8sg_v2+ Build runs fine. I just can‘t notice any difference between contrast setting 7-10

@Moeder: It's all I can to do with OLED contrast after several days dances with tambourine around T8SG V2 Plus. I even use quadratic function for contrast calculation and unusual Pre-Charge Period settings. It's almost impossible to get wide contrast setting for OLED screen.

In my case I can‘t notice any difference between contrast setting 8-10.

I'm trying to imagine you around the T8SG with a tambourine :silly: I wasn't criticizing, just noting my experience. Visibility is just fine with the OLED, so we can just keep things as they are.

Concerning the jitter, I can reproduce it with 4xAA alkaline batteries, although it is dependent on the audio volume setting - I don't experience jitter anymore when turning down volume, so it does seem somehow power consumption related. I use a 0.8 W 8 Ohm speaker. I do not have any buzz, but I opted for not using the PCB speaker routing, but instead directly connected the speaker to the DF player pins with a twisted wire pair.

If anyone can help to update wiki with my pictures , it will be appreciated , My English is terrible :(

BTW, I got same result as vlad_vy , I can't find contrast difference between 8 to 10.

@Moeder,

I have no luck :( , I connect speaker with twist wire to DFPlayer , but I still have buzz noise even if I changed volume to 1 ,
I installed 0.5W 8 Ohm speaker .

Anyone having issues with the Aux4 rotary switch not working on their T8SG V2 Plus. Ive played with the programming, ive opened it up to look or obvious damage and didnt see anything. Aux 5 works fine.

@DC59- When you installed the twisted wire speaker connection, did you cut the connection of those 2 dfplayer pins to the main board? As I read Moeder's description it seems he totally avoided any connection of the speaker signals to the main board. That could explain the different buzz results.

Try to calibrate sticks along with AUX4 and AUX5.

Thanks for your help!
I cut speaker pin between main board and DFPlayer , I got very clear voice now , no more buzz noise :)

I didn't cut the or leave out those pins, but I'm glad it works for you now. BTW, do you also notice that timer alerts etc. Need a little more delay between playing the different voice files?

So I tried installing a dfplayer module with direct connection to the speaker.
When using 1.2V rechargeable batteries or 1.5V alkaline batteries, only static comes out of it.
Using 2 cell lipo it played the clips but makes a loud screeching sound initially and later randomly.
Any ideas/suggestions? I did not solder the module in yet, but I don't think that should be a problem.

I don't want to take the tx apart again, the screws are starting to strip, but here is a few pics of the dfplayer module.
I just slid it in to its slot when I was testing.
I did manage to mess up when ordering the speaker, it's a 28mm 8Ohm 1W speaker, could that be it?

I see a good possibility of your speaker taking too much current. Try . 3 or. 5 W Speaker

Can someone please recommend a SPECIFIC 2s lipo that will fit the PLUS?
Have one on order that arrives in a few days...
I believe that I read that it should measure no larger than 90x30x15mm.
Is that correct? (still looking for a specific recommendation).
Will I need to get a battery connector as well, or is the on that is hooked up to the AA battery holder going to work (not hard wired).
