i ve tested last version on this thread from moeder on my Devo12s.
Welcome message and 2times binding completed @bayang protocol is sucessfully played.
Tested a short flight and telemetry message works too.
No problems so far.

Edit: my dfplayer is powered from the 4,25V Rail for the TX Module

mwm wrote: Binding is played 2 times for some protocols because they have a 2-step binding process, and play the "completed" sound at the end of each step. Works find for beeps, but not so much with a voice alert.

Actually it is triggered every time via PROTOCOL_CheckDialogs() when the binding dialog is closed, and additionally some protocols also play binding music when leaving binding state. This doesn't make sense to me, shouldn't we choose either place, but remove the double plays?

Apart from that, I would like to wait for some more feedback on the testbuild concerning startup messages, so far only one user has issues, but major ones, so this is not ready for a pull request yet.

@Moeder,

Continued to make some tests, with strange results.
Devo 12S : not working
I have 2 Devo 6 , only one is working, not the other, exactly the same configuration : hardware and build (v5.0.0-7b55485), mp3 same, media is same ?

When installing v5.0.0-53a7951 I have the voice announcements back.

@Pulpfiction15:, Could you please check which model file (especially which protocol) the non working vs. The working devos are loading at startup? This could be triggering the issue...

No, the welcome message fix isn't in the current nightlies, as pulpfiction15 still seems to have issues we need to fix first. Hhe has no voice at all, so this rather cosmetical fix seems to break something. That is nothing I want to push into nightlies.

@moeder,

That's indeed what could be different, I didn't, try with different models, the non working transmitters, are both using 'FrskyX' protocol.
The Devo6 that's is working, I use it for my simulator and is set to 'USBHID'.

Will make some test, changing protocol this evening.

Probably no more testing needed. The FrSkyX Protocol changes the serial ports baudrate to send extended telemetry data to the serial port. Before my fix there was an additional audio reset after model load, whch again reset the baudrate. I guess the only solution to this is adding a protocol option to enable or disable serial output of telemetry data and additionaly checking that in voice routines to reactivate buzzer in that case.

I supposed so. I'll make the necessary additions to FrSkyX (I'll also check for other protocols) and prepare a pull request. But please be patient, I'm a little busy and probably won't get to it until the end of this month.

This shouldn't be related to voice, so please post your question to the FrSkyX Protocol thread or open a new one.

Hello~ I'm new in here!
Actually I've got much help in here last 3 month.
(It's really hard to register here. I tried three email address and finally I got code to here :))

First of all. I'm reaaally thankyou here deviationtx.
I'm newbie on RC, and (of course) still feels happy with learning something I didn't know about Deviationtx.
It's amazing!

I'm using Devo10, at first added 4in1 module. and it works great at first try.
And I've added voice output last couple of days by following deviation wiki.
http://www.deviationtx.com/wiki/voiceoutput
And I think I did it well.

connect signal on #2 on pic,
Using 8Ohm, 0.5W speaker.
Powering by debug port, and set 4.2V by pololu.
Tried sometimes and It works nice!

But problem is.... voice stucked when I set volume 9 and 10.
Same was at volume 8 first few times, but It's being Okay soon.
Volume 8 is noticable, but little quiet using outside.
I hope to perfection my beloved devo 10. :)

Before I added voice output, buzzer was most loud at Volume 8. Is that relate?
Anyone who thinks clue of this problem, please help me.

and, when I changed model that using FrskyX(XSR Receiver) voice don't working.
I should reset TX to get voice with that model.
Anyone who knows clue of this, please help me.

(Oh now I know that's normal when using FrskyX)

Below is my TX voice working, and stucking video.

Sorry about my poor english, thankyou for reading here.
and THANKYOU AGAIN DEVIATION TX!!

Please have a little patience, I'm on vacation... Once I return I will prepare a pull request to be included on future nightlies which will

a) include startup sound fix
b) enable voice for FrSkyX by default
c) add a protocol option to disable voice on FrSkyX in favor of s. port telemetry output to trainer jack

Concerning the volume problem, has anyone else run into this?

I took a look at your video and noticed the display light was flashing off and back on when the voice got stuck , so this is probably a power issue. I'm not sure what's feeding Vdd on the debug port, but it seems insufficient when supplying volume levels 9 and above in your specific combination (speaker that is mainly). I don't know which step-up/step-down you chose, but they should be sufficient, so try supplying the Pololu directly from battery voltage as a first step. If this does not solve the problem try a different speaker.
