What errors Vlad? Did you find anything more protocol code related (for normal flying)?
I understand like you wrote it that it's only some (not so important errors) about sensors and telemetry config page??

vlad_vy wrote: DSM telemetry update related to correct functioning "Telemetry config" page and displaying correct values, nothing more. Try to setup RPM alarm for previous version and for telemetry updated version. And many other sensors also had values and alarm setup problems.[/font]

Sorry Vlad, it got pretty cold here in Germany. Sun is rarely shining - kinda busy here too next weeks :(

I once had a temp sensor in a delta plane, which is not that healthy anymore. Temp not in any other model.
I just could test the temp sensor a little bit on ground (in room).

RPM:
I do not have a RPM sensor and the Blade heli is not mechanically ready for AR8000 11ms high speed testing (probably will take end of december-february on good weather, worst-case spring for any in-air tests).

Have you been developing any RPM code config updates?
Does the RPM page e.g support any
- motor poles
- motor and main gear teeth
- gear ratios
for auto RPM calculation just like Spektrum airware does (would have to double-check in manual or friends DX8G1)?

I neither have cheap 3rd party altimeter or GPS sensors in the EPO glider for in-flight tests.

Can you maybe be a little more specific what and what sensors in detail needs to be tested either on ground or live in-air?
Just the telemetry config page? How? I wonder how I could help here with all the missing sensors.
What are you testing personally? What shall we re-test?

I read Spektrum Airware uses auto scanning of the sensor X-bus and on firmware updates Spektrum pilots had to re-configure their telemetry pages. Do we have / need something like this on Deviation?

Best regards

Thomas

I haven't any plans to change v5.0.0 main code anymore, it will not fit to Devo7e. Now I have none spare bytes for the main code Devo7e.

Last DSM2/X protocol changes (03.11.2016) have nothing new, compacting protocol code to enable protocol options for Devo7e only.

It look like I can't support Devo7e builds anymore. Frsky protocol updates will change the main code also, and it will not fit to Devo7e memory. But Devo7e users can use nightly builds, they use more compact main code.

Anyway, the primary goal of these builds is:

I don't like GUI changes at nightly builds, so I created the custom build v5.0.0 with all latest protocols integrated (for Devo6, Devo8 and Devo12).

There are a lot of new things appearing recently and 7e limits the developments........................

Maybe time is now to make a statement on 7e compatibility and start new firmware 5.1.0 version of deviation which not anymore fit 7e?
At least then customer with 7e can use up to latest 5.0.x. From 5.1 and higher not anymore compatible?
Maybe U7E, can become part of standard builds, more people upgrading?
Maybe new buyes wil consider devo10/devo6?

Devo 7e, even with 5.0 code as is now it is still a very good Tx with loads of features?

Vlad_vy, I just installed your build (devo7e-2016-11-12) on my 7e, over a fresh 5.0.0 update (.dfu and USB files), but when I power my Tx up, it tells me "Protocol Mismatch: 0801fc58, 0801fc6c.
And, as suspected, I can't bind with DSM2 or DSMX protocols...
I tried the .dfu install twice, with the same results.
Any idea on that ?

For Devo7e you need overwrite 'protocol' folder at Devo7e filesystem, along with *.dfu file update.

Vlad, what's the point of 7E and 10 builds of 5.0 with new protocols? I know many people don't like new menu system on full color Devos, and for a reason - it's not fully developed.

But is there any significant difference in how it is displayed on 7E and 10?

Also, do you have a repository where you track these changes?

Devo10 and Devo7e builds because of requests from users. Probably they be afraid of nightly builds. By the way, I think it's a time to clean up Nigtly builds => there are "tens and dozens" warnings at compilation list.

No, I haven't puplic repository, it's local builds without track of changes. If anybody can create/restore/activate branch v5.0.0 (02 May 2016) at main repository, I can try to reproduce track of changes from memory. Probably I will need admin rights for branch v5.0.0, for simplicity and quickness. Or, any other method?

P.S. If it all has any sense. From the begining I do it for myself only. And up to now I have illusion that I do it for myself only, since I have almost zero responce from users.

He-he, try to stop doing it, you'll see! Check out the ratio of lurkers to registered users on forums, at any given time there are around 300 lurkers there.

There is a branch github.com/DeviationTX/deviation/tree/BRANCH_5.0 , is it what you're talking about?

We can create a branch for 5.0 with protocols off of it and reapply all protocol development there. I'm not sure am I empowered to give you rights (it's not for the branch, it's for the whole repo), FDR and mwm are probably the most knowledgeable in this.

@FDR, @mwm, can we give vlad_vy submit rights over the repository? He needs to maintain release 5.0 with fresh protocols added.

Thanks again for the Builds with 5.0.0
I like your fast update Speed vlad_vy and your Bild with 5.0.0 give me a save feeling on using it.
The Point why i use your Bild is , there are no bad surprise at 5.0.0 .
I use your s8, s10, s6, 7e on my Copter , Planes and Toys without any Problems.
Every Time it is a Pleasure to upgrade, because all works and i can use all my old 5.0.0 Settings and Changes.
Please continue your Posting of the 5.0.0 with all new Protocol Updates, i like it !

My 2 ct.
-> on OpenTx i stopped at latest 1.x because i don't like the overloaded Options on the 2.x . I always like a compact and overlookebal Sytem without to many Bling bling on it. This is why I am using Deviationtx now, it is more compact as the OpenTx !

Greetings Alex and THANKS vlad_vy for Your good Work

Vlad, and I'll check warnings, sure. I counted 804 warnings in the latest build, a bit too much :-)

No, it's branch with some (and possible too many) changes after v5.0.0 release. Look at releases tab ( github.com/DeviationTX/deviation/releases ) on 30 Apr.

Will be better to create new branch with possible name "INTERMEDIATE_v5.0.0".

Ok, I'll check it, but as an author of some of these "too many changes" - they are mainly bug fixes and sometimes "afterthoughts" - useful changes that just did not make it to quite arbitrary 5.0 cutoff date.

At any case, I already tryed to use BRANCH_5.0 and need to revert some changes, now I don't remember why. For me will be easier start from clean v5.0.0 release.
