Regarding the H501S I think I'll make a pull request without telemetry for now as it needs to be reworked but controls work fine.

yeah i'm not sure what was up, the only thing i changed between non working and working was to set the video frequency on the 7e to one of the proper available settings (5.845), though i've tried changing it back to a non available one and it still binds ok. so it may have a flashing issue, or something else entirely but who knows lol

Hi,
I'm greatly interested in H501S firmware with my Devo7e.

Is this firmware released?

Yes, it's in the nightly, it has no telemetry except battery voltage tho.

Hi, new to forum, found this image on first page of this topic, but on it only 4 from 8 pins are marked. I'm planning to use Hubsan TX module with naze32, will this 4 pins be enough to fully control this TX module? maybe some one know what are for other pins?

I don't know what you're trying to do, but I think those pins will be useless to you, they were only useful to connect the logic analyzer to understand the protocol.
The 4 other pins are unconnected.

Thank you for reply. I have Hubsan RX board and Hubsan Remote transmitter and i plan to connect Hubsan RX with arduino and send commands to it. And to do this i'm searching what are the pins of RX board and how connect them to other device to read/write messages.

As i understand 4 connected pins are just SPI pins and if i will connect module with SPI i will be able to RX/TX the data?

Hi!

Very interesting thread!

I have the Spy Hawk H301S - I think the only member of the 'New Hubsans' not mentioned so far. Many of the same features as the H501S, excluding Follow Me, of course. I've ordered a Logic Analyzer, but wanted to ask if anyone has already done any work on this?

My guess is that much of the work on the 501 will be useful, once the binding protocol is identified.

Thanks for all the work done so far!

Try with the H501 protocol option, there's a good chance it's using the same protocol.
If not I'd be happy that you post captures ;)

I tried my 107c X4 protocol (not the new one) and successfully bound to the plane. Rudder, Elev, Ail and Throttle work. No telemetry (battery was the only one on the X4). Can't risk flying with not control of RTH!

I need to update the FW to Deviation 5 and download an ini file to test the 501, but my guess is that it won't work...

Thanks, again. Will be a few weeks before I have the logic analyzer.

Also, I have a Devo 6s, rather than the 7e. As far as I can tell it's a 7e with a nicer touch screen... Which build would you suggest?

Sorry - where do I find the H501 protocol option? I see only the *hubsan4 in the User Manual.

Select the Hubsan4 protocol then "click" the protocol name, that will open a dialog where you can select H107 or H501 format, vTX frequency and telemetry on/off settings.

When I click the name Hubsan4, only the VTx frequency and ON/OFF appear. I have the Devo 6 Version 5 build. Perhaps your protocol is only in the 7 and 10?

Ah, I thought it was in 5.0 but maybe I'm wrong, get the nightly then.

Is the 501 branch in ALL Devo model builds? I have the Devo 6s.

Thanks
